Go play one of those mom's if it's that important to you. Now if you want to tell us the reasons why you want it then go for it, this is the place for it. Its one of my few complains about the game,it just removes much of the social aspects of the game,it makes everything feel empty and its so hard finding a group,I am tired,i am playing eso less becouse of this. By talking about this i have mostly been met by downvotes,silly arguments like "console players dont like to type" and people telling me to go back to pc.
Those people could not be more wrong,i have sent and gotten more messages in eso then any game on xbox,and in Eso you got to first stand close to the player,then hold start,then choose view gamercard,then you have to wait a couple seconds,then finally choose send message! Alot of people are doing it so what makes people think console players will be against text chat?
Why not have text chat so we dont have to go through all those things? Its so annoying,how could ZoS not see that this was a bad design?
There is nothing wrong with voice chat,but having only voice chat is not enough in a MMO, not having text chat just makes everything more difficult,i cant type lfg so everyone in the zone can read,i cant advertise my guild,i cant chat with many people,cant do all the great stuff we could do if we had text chat,
Instead i need to yell lfg in voice chat and be met by people telling me to shut up or people making fun of my accent,crying babies,dogs barking,people figthing,someone chewing etc.
I have heard people say that text chat would ruin their immersion but they couldnt be more wrong,seriously why cant we have both text chat and voice? And no i wont go back to pc,i want to help zos improve the console versions.
Zos,what about people who cant hear? What about people who cant speak english to well but can read and type better? What about people who just dont feel like talking? What about people who are mostly in party chat?
Zos,I love this game,i just think its such a shame that you are ignoring this problem,why make the console version inferiour on purpose? Please listen to your paying customers,we just want to make the game better.

I was put off by its appearance. All the people citing screen clutter know fine well it can be hidden but I'd bet they all use it if implemented. I'd bet they start running trials pledges vdsa etc more regularly and more successfully , I'd bet cyrodil gets organised much better And I bet their guilds become more active and social .Jungleim

If this was the case, then I suspect there would be much fewer calls for text chat. But its not.

✭✭✭Text chat is *vital* for those who don't own headsets or can't use them. For example; people hard of hearing. As long as it has the ability to hide the chat log I think it's a smart move.3
