I just got scammed via a gold trade for a Vampire bite, is this reportable and will I get the gold back?

Long story short, do not pay for a vamp/ww bite, ever. Find a good guild that bites members for free, hang around the shrine for a free bite (I give them out all the time on PC), or make friends and get them to bite you. It's amazing how many players on console are getting scammed left and right when it's easily avoidable.

Yeah I've been bitten for free before, cured myself but was in a rush to be re-bitten so I can get the skill points that I lost when I re-speced after getting cured -_-'
idiot move on my part I guess, I guess I'm too trusting!

All scamming can be reported. Whether or not they are able to deal with it, or if you can get your gold back, is another thing.

The best way to report a scammer is if you are on PC and can take screenshots of what you have written to each other (either in ZoneChat/Whisper, or even better if it's a mail-correspondence). That way you have evidence that you have made a deal but he did not keep his end of the bargain. If you're on Xbox/PS4, however, it may be a bit more tricky??

Its annoying because it lets the community on the PS4 down, which for the most part is decent!

More people giving free bites daily. I got bit a few days ago within seconds of walking up to the shrine and didn't even ask for a bite.

Yeah this is the first MMO I played where there is no text chat - bloody sucks!

The shrine at the moment has more humans than vampires! and no one has formed an orderly cue! haha

My character was only level 9 so it's gonna take forever to get up to level 6 vamp to give out bites

Or you say xbox record this when you make arrangements for bite, get video with sound of the transaction.

I assume you run on PS4. Always, if paying or trading for a bite, start video recording, take screenshots, and ask for a screenshot of the biting player's character sheet to show they can bite. Do as much correspondence through messaging (on PS4) as possible, so you have it, and report if you are scammed.

PS4 makes it very easy for players to video record and screenshot during games, which I love.

Yeah I am PS4. I did do what you suggested and when I reported the player I mentioned that I have the transcript through PSN messaging... still probably wont lead anywhere from what people have told me.

If you want to be bitten for free,and you should NOT have to pay,..go to the Rift,if you can.Find Fallowstone Watshrine and watch for any vamps.The quest shrine for it is close to there.You can usually get someone to either bite you right there at the shrine,or they'll take you there so you can ask for help.I found them quite nice about it,both times my chars were bit,and I wasnt in a guild.My level wasnt near 30 either time as well. I hope this helps. :}

Thanks, I'll have to wait until post-game as I'm in the DC... which unfortunately seems to have a lot of greedy buggers. But I'm sure not every one in the DC is a scammer or greedy, I was just unlucky I guess. What I don't get is why high level vet players are asking for 10k a bite. surely they don't need that 10k a week at that level, from what I've seen on the forums 10k at vet levels is pocket change.

I run a Xbox One guild, but I'm almost positive that there are guilds like mine who's sole purpose is to help the community on PS4.

Without sounding like a damn marketer here we are always accepting new people looking to become Vampires. We keep a solid 100+ group of people going at any given time. Okay dude that's really good of you! I need to find myself a guild like that on PS4 EU. If I come across an Xbox One player in need of a friendly guild I'll let them know.

This is best way, But a lot of new players don't really know how the bite works (as you must be at shrine before you can receive a bite from a Vamp) . I was one of them when ESO first launched as I have never played an ES game I just didn't know and I paid for a Vamp bite which I thought was cheap at the time of 5k, I reported them and within 24 hours I had a response and my gold back. But I'm not so sure now as I have heard the support has back off a lot since ESO launch. But give it a go and see what happens.

There is nothing really that can be done about it, You enter the trade window and you hit accept. Hitting accept is when you committed to a trade window with nothing in return, anything outside of that they really have no obligation to follow through with. Once you hit that accept button all you have riding on is if the person is kindhearted or not.

Get it for 3 on eu i know about 30 guys that have 2to3 toon that they only log on to bite in dc i have 3 ults crafters that i log on bite first thing i see then log to main tho i do charge on my main

Was you ad eu i ran in the shrine and bit a lvl 9 they prayed as i logged out

I had given up on getting bitten when someone came to me two nights ago and asked if I wanted to be a werewolf. I said sure but what's the catch? He said no catch, he had been scammed in the past and didn't want others to go thru that. I followed him to the shrine and sure enough, he bit me. When I get to the point where I can pass it on, I will do the same for free.

A good news story! ESO support have dealt with the scammer who got me, AND refunded the lost gold back to me. Nice job

There are good people around, last night I went to the werewolf shrine and got spammed with messages asking for 10-15k gold!

When I said bite first and pay after the refused, for me to then get messaged by 2 people saying their scammers they got them.

Went back today and someone just randomly bit me. I gave him 3k as a thank you but he didn't expect or request it

I prefer to bite people who are in the middle negotiating the price of a bite.
The thing I have been finding lately is when I go to the werewolf shrine it's hard to find someone to give a bite

I always let them pay first since i've been scammed twice as well. On the other side, i'll take my time to negotiate, sens the screenshots of whatever they want AND most important... i DO bite afterwards

I think the action of giving gold on a promise is asking for trouble. I hope you get your issue resolved.
