Why is there a lack of ETA on maintenance these day?

Once upon a time ETA's were quite common. Now they are rarely seen. Could we have them back please?

There is a yellow window at the top telling you precisely when the maintenance will start. As to duration, if that was your question, this has only ever been given for maintenance that did not involve patching. As soon as a patch is involved, there were no estimated durations given until they had a good grip on actual server patching progress.

For PC all it ever seems to say these days is;

"No PC/MAC Maintenance"

Because if they go 1 second over there given time, the forums would blow up with idiots saying how it's taking longer than they said it would

But then again these will be same people that if ZOS gave an ETA on when maintenance ends and if they are several minutes over, they will be up in arms.

In australia I have been waiting for servers to go back online from dinner time until my bedtime.
Tonights enjoyment was a compleat waste of time. I should of went to bed early and bothered my wife.
I miss the days When the NA server went down you could still play on the EU server.
Please bring it back that way...

Will they update the yellow notice when the maintenance is over? Did they do that in previous shutdowns? Or are we supposed to keep trying and trying to log into the game until we are allowed in?

Would it hurt them so very badly to give us at least a ballpark estimation of the maintenance duration? You now, something like "a couple of hours", "between 3 and 6 hours", "3 or 4 days", "until november 2017"... Sigh.

They do maintenance every other week.

Oh. They gave an estimation, an hour ago... on Twitter (https://twitter.com/TESOnline):

We estimate we’ll have the Xbox One megaservers back up around noon EDT (5PM BST). We’ll tweet an update when maintenance is done.

So the "official" notice is on the forums, but you don't get any estimation unless you check their Twitter. Way to unify the information, guys!
Anyway, one and a half hours more, then.

Doesn't ETA mean Estimated Time of Arrival? If that's the case it clearly states when it will start.
