Character Name Change?

I heard that they'll let us change our character names with the Imperial update, is this true or false?
If it's true, I hope it applies for console too, since in PvP, if our characters name doesn't include our gamer tag, then we're basically invisible on the leaderboards.... unless one becomes an Emperor/Empress and then their name shows up for a second; making it obvious who the guy is at #1.

✭I've been keeping up with the coming changes fairly well and I haven't heard anything about letting us change our character names. It's possible I'm wrong tho (I kind of hope I am).2 -

✭I've put in numerous tickets in the past asking to change characters names for one reason or another and usually got what what I asked for. If they refuse, try again. Though it would be nice if a name change feature was added into the game so long as there is a way to do it without getting abused. Perhaps a cool down timer like the character delete limit?1 -

✭✭✭✭✭With the game now being crown-store powered, I would assume any character name change option would cost crowns as well. I'd be okay with that...
I mean, just have your character walk to some clerk in your factions capital city, slip him a bag of crowns and ask he "update" the official records with a new name... what could be so difficult about that?

✭✭Recently (in the patch today) they've now added the "View Profile" option on the leaderboards, so that's not bad -- even though it doesn't work at the moment...

✭This would be nice. Folks that aren't subbed and haven't logged in for 6 months to a year should have their names roll out of the "name taken" category. Maybe 6 months for unsubbed.0 -
