Nice try, but this isn't about Skyrim, it's about traditional schools of magic featured in most main series TES games. However, UrQuan brings up a good point. Even if Vanus Galerion already codified the schools, they may not be widely taught or even accepted as such. I admit I haven't paid attention to it in the game, so I'm not sure at what stage we are exactly.Forestd16b14_ESO wrote: »Oh look another person wanting Skyrim 2.0 it has been said how many times that ESO is not Skyrim 2.0.
Actually, now that I think about it, I have a feeling that spellcrafting was supposed to represent the evolution of the understanding of magic which leads to the codification of the schools... So maybe it's not actually that unlikely, assuming that they ever get back to working on spellcrafting.Nice try, but this isn't about Skyrim, it's about traditional schools of magic featured in most main series TES games. The mechanics of these are difficult to code for multiplayer ... best left in solo games where the environment can be better controlled
Yep, Spellcrafting was supposed to have a basis in the schools of magic. Here's the book you're thinking of: Proposal: Schools of Magic.Actually, now that I think about it, I have a feeling that spellcrafting was supposed to represent the evolution of the understanding of magic which leads to the codification of the schools... The only reasonable conclusion is that for ESO they retconned this so hard that they went back in time and inserted this book into Oblivion and Skyrim! That definitely is retconning at its finest. Probably required some sort of dragon break to do it too.
The Black Arts On Trial
"The 'Schools' of magicka are, as we know, artificial constructs, originally formulated by Vanus Galerion to divide and thereby simplify study. They have changed many times throughout the years, but at their heart, every Master knows, they are all linked together."

I've been playing the game since closed beta and have kept splaying up until now but I just thought that It would be really awesome to have some of the Magical abilities from other Schools of Magic that we've seen in Other Elder Scrolls games.
Alteration Staff:
Support skill line with some CC and other affecting abilities.
Conjuration Staff:
Summoning stuff.
Illusion Staff:
I don't know but it would still be cool.
The only problem I can think of with this is it giving much more options for Magicka users while Stamina users still have limited Options. So it would be cool to add these with some more Stamina skill lines Such as Single Handed Dueling. (One handed weapon and nothing else) Or Brawling Knuckles / Unarmed.
For more ideas on Skill lines and things I would really appreciate checking out my 'Evolving ESO Series' It has a Part with many skill line ideas in mind.
