More TES Magic Schools.

I've been playing the game since closed beta and have kept splaying up until now but I just thought that It would be really awesome to have some of the Magical abilities from other Schools of Magic that we've seen in Other Elder Scrolls games.

Alteration Staff:

Support skill line with some CC and other affecting abilities.

Conjuration Staff:

Summoning stuff.

Illusion Staff:

I don't know but it would still be cool.

The only problem I can think of with this is it giving much more options for Magicka users while Stamina users still have limited Options. So it would be cool to add these with some more Stamina skill lines Such as Single Handed Dueling. (One handed weapon and nothing else) Or Brawling Knuckles / Unarmed.

For more ideas on Skill lines and things I would really appreciate checking out my 'Evolving ESO Series' It has a Part with many skill line ideas in mind.

The mechanics of these are difficult to code for multiplayer ... best left in solo games where the environment can be better controlled
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Not sure where I read it, but I'm pretty sure that according to the lore the schools of magic that we know from other TES games haven't actually been codified yet in the era of ESO.

@UrQuan @keybaud As much as I'd enjoy using the other schools of magic, if at least to feel like a real mage, I can see how those schools are hard to implement and lore wise, far off. Still, I think that ZOS could capture that feeling of scholarly research and discovery by adding either a few miscellaneous spells that can "morph" pre-existing spells. Perhaps a fireball coupled with charm that would deal damage and make the enemy join the player's side...

Nice try, but this isn't about Skyrim, it's about traditional schools of magic featured in most main series TES games. However, UrQuan brings up a good point. Even if Vanus Galerion already codified the schools, they may not be widely taught or even accepted as such. I admit I haven't paid attention to it in the game, so I'm not sure at what stage we are exactly.

Actually, now that I think about it, I have a feeling that spellcrafting was supposed to represent the evolution of the understanding of magic which leads to the codification of the schools... So maybe it's not actually that unlikely, assuming that they ever get back to working on spellcrafting.

Idk if all or any of the stuff the op listed would be good for the game, but I think there should be more more class options for magicka users.

Sure you have Templars with what could be best described as holy magic, Dragon Knights with Flame specific skills, Nightblades with siphoning, and of coarse Sorcs can conjure and use lightning based spells.

But I ask you where are necromancers? Where is frost or ice magic? That's something I'd like to see added.

Well we have spellcrafting announced for the far future of ESO, for the little info they have released the story of it will be tied with the compilation of the traditional TES schools of magic by Vanus Galerion (that hasn't happened yet in the currently timeline of the game)

I don't know why some people have yo get so aggressive in responses to people's posts.

I don't want Skyrim 2.0 at all. In fact I didn't enjoy Skyrim anywhere near as much as ESO. Did you not read the part about me playing the game since closed beta and been playing ever since (Usually implies that I like the game)

I just thought it would be a cool addition to have to add some more abstract play styles other than DPS , Tank and Healer.

Clearly you`ve never played an MMO with a diverse set of spells this games spell abilities are not good, and really needs to be better. this is just one classes spell list.

    Necromancer Spells List.

Id be happy if they just added Frost and Fire skill line instead of just Lightning for Sorcs, just seems Lazy.

Yep, Spellcrafting was supposed to have a basis in the schools of magic. Here's the book you're thinking of: Proposal: Schools of Magic.

alteration could be another form of healing tree designed to be more of a bubble focused "your not hurt if you can think your not" similar to how waterbreathing spells are percieved, it's how you bend the world around you. perfect for healing. hell you could even make it a tanking staff tree instead for differences.

illusion could be about dots and fears with a buff in there for healing/damage reduction/invisibility(lesser than claok ofc)

while conjuration could be about pets (lesser than sorc ones) and defensiveness, probably a better candidate for a staff tanking than alteration.

if you wanna use these examples in the first post i wont complain ;)

The only reasonable conclusion is that for ESO they retconned this so hard that they went back in time and inserted this book into Oblivion and Skyrim! That definitely is retconning at its finest. Probably required some sort of dragon break to do it too. :D
