If Lag was fixed would this be the best MMO out there?

Just like the post says. Before the lag kicks in this game is hella fun to play. Sure there are balancing issues but there will always be. I still pay in hopes that they get the resources to fix it. I like many others have put in a lot of time into this game in hopes that it returns to former glory. Heck I wish they would go back to pre lighting patch.

I remember fighting Crown's raid a few weeks back before I took a break and it was at least 24 on 24 in BRK and it was easily a top three moment in my MMO history. They wiped, we wiped, etc. no one complaining or crap talking because it was just great PVP. Why was there no lag? There was meteors dropping, healing springs, etc. I don't get it

I know there are former players that lurk on the forums still. My question is I guess how many of you would come back if the lag was fixed?

    Bring back 1.5 with:
-a bit of a nerf to ultimate gain and negate
    -fixed camps
    -buff stamina a bit

If lag was fixed along with a mix of the great things from both 1.5/1.6, yes this would clearly be the best MMO PvP today.

When you say "a bit of a nerf to negate" do you mean make it weaker than it currently is or stronger than it currently is but weaker than what it was in 1.5? Please elaborate how if posible

Nerf negate, and by this I mean when a sorc casts negate a bunch of pretty fireworks should go off and everyone in the area take 10 dmg. That's it. Nerf Negate! It would bring out a new level of showmanship for sorcs and maybe they could get like 100g mailed to them by ZoS as an "entertainment" ulimate that makes everyone happy. I'd be okay with this, even though it could potentially cause economic problems as well.

I was commenting last night while grinding mobs in Cracked Wood Cave that the combat system in this game is still the best out of any I've played when it works as designed with no delay. I was weapon swapping mid dodge roll through mobs, animation cancelling another ability on that bar into another dodge roll and breaking out of that with an AoE ability. 1 key press or 1 action equaled exactly the response I wanted on my character.

In PvP you have to mash each key several times, weapon swaps several times, 1-2 seconds to break free etc. I would absolutely love to fight people like I do in CWC without lag.

Lag is bad at prime time but that's not the reason I quit. Exploits need to be fixed and/or players banned for cheating. ESO could have been the best MMO out there if the crap company had cared to make it so.

I've yet to find anything close to all of what ESO offers. The first thing I notice aside from the graphics when trying other games is how combat feels and responds. Games like Skyforge are responsive, but don't feel visceral like ESO does. I do like the combat in Dark Souls II, but more the style than the feel.

Yeah exploiters are a PITA, but dealing with it is only a moment away once you choose to do so.

Yes ZOS has created at least one key issue for each one they've solved which makes 1.5 w/few tweaks appealing.

The lag sucks, but pales in comparison to the fun. But I think I'm the minority on this. So Agreed if we can get to BWB levels of performance I bet many old timers would come back.

I certainly think so. PVP is incredibly fun without lag. I hope people come back if it ever gets fixed.

    1. Fix Lag
    2. Fix Exploits
    3. Fix Balance (Including Vet/CS).
...then I see nothing else any other game could offer me.

I told myself we would be turning a corner and it would all be downhill after 2.0 released.

The exploits just ruin this game. With lag and exploits it's just ridiculous how frustrating the experience is.

1.5 with the ulti buff meaning you have to be in combat to generate ultimate (at 1.5 levels though).

+ fix purge, negate nerf, blockade change, healing debuff change.

Maybe just move to the 1.6 buff system/skill changes in general because I like them a bit more.

Also remove AOE caps and fix lag.

Would be my perfect ESO. I'd play a lot more though if just the lag was fixed.

Zo$ doesn't know how to; fix bugs fast, close exploits immediately, ban (and name) the players using exploits.

Time to kill is beyond stupid.

Recovery is too high, without cooldowns it makes resource management non-existent.

Alpha spike damage is too high.

Even without lag, weapon swap is not always guaranteed at 250 ping.

Without lag the combat system is awesome. However, the game still has a lot of problems, and especially in case of the combat, ZOS has a lot of experience by now in how to make those even worse.

I miss playing....I really do...but I just can't bring myself to dealing with that lag and all of the other issues with this game. After a month away, the painful urge has left me....so it's easier to peruse the forums without wanting to immediately log in. It is still, in my opinion, the best PvP I've experienced (since UO back in the 90s).

This game would be the best MMO if
    -The lag was fixed.
-There was more content relative to the amount of time the game has been out. Since the game's release there hasn't been any except Craglorn.
-Balance issues in PvP were resolved
-Certain mechanics of Cyrodiil were fleshed out. If feels like the Devs only halfway thought out Cyrodiil. It's supposed to be much larger, with more cities, towns, etc. Cyrodiil feels like a husk.
-The wasps were removed from Craglorn.

    The best mmo?

No. PvE, crafting, dungeons in other mmo's are much better.

PvP I love, except lag. But also about that... if ArcheAge didn't have T3 Hasla crap grind gear I would love that PvP even more. Open world PvP (and of course there are enough save zones) Naval battles is great. Sadly my lvl 55 cannot compete against players who grind 24/7 to get the best of the best of the uberbest weapons. My skills as a player are great, but people who only grinded there now PvP and slap my face with one hit.

The game looks great. But face it.. most people play it because it's Elderscrolls and because of the "massive with lag" PvP. If the game was called "Zebedeus" and had no PvP, nobody would be playing.

PvP in eso is great as long as it doesn't lag.. And if you don't look at the champion point grind fest and the hell lot of bugs.. :)
Maybe it's playable again with the next patch, but I'm kinda just waiting for next game to release since I doubt anything will ever change. That's just sad..

Same for me. I will only play a game with the same (or bigger) scale of PvP. So far on my list are:

Black Desert: Besides actual living towns like witcher 3 and massive PvP I also like the idea people can have there own real estate. They can have caravans and trading routes. And what do I like about that? Thieves like me can attack those caravans and steal stuff. Just like I now steal peoples packages in Archeage and slaughter their unprotected cattle.

Camelot Unchained: So far I only saw bad graphics of some custom made keeps (which is a great idea that you can build your own keeps) and lots of people who looked like clones attacking it. It's still early alpha so will keep my eye on this.

Although I would skip both of the games if they have the same F2P item store like ArcheAge has.

Well Black Desert is probably going the f2p route while Camelot Unchained goes subscription based.
They also started working on the graphics now and from what I've seen it's awesome.
    Let's hope :)

No, because the exploits and imbalance of eso pvp far outweighs the lag issue.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

Combat mechanics: the feel of dodge roll, block, movement, etc second to none.

Class design, balance: ok to decent. The semi-freedom in builds is nice, but leads to sameness.

Mob and World design: almost unbelievably good.

Quests: meh. Too many "activate these four portals" not enough "the orcs are taking the town"

AvA: Megaserver, travel to player, different factions on same account, and near-universal Explorer pack removes almost all of the realm-pride and differentiation seen in DAOC. Needs Battlegrounds, Duels, IC (hopefully).

Management and communication: Terrible. Atrocious. I'm sure it is worse in some other games, but here it is the worst I have ever seen in a MMO I have played.

    EDIT:

Dev / GM presence in game: non-existent. Exploiters becoming norm rather than exception.
