Piercing/Mighty champion passives work on light/heavy attacks

Does the piercing (increases the amount of armor your physical attack ignore) and mighty (increases physical damage) passives in the ritual tree of the mage work only on skills or do they also applie to light/heavy attacks from your weapons. You know the moves you do when you hit your left mouse button or right bumper.

Your basic light and heavy are affected as are any abilities that use non-staff weapons. But abilities like Unstable flame even thought it uses stamina are not.

Ok so weapon skills and some other skills are effected along with light and heavys.
