Bringing followers into the Elder Scrolls Online.

rowanwatkins3
This is one of the features I loved in ES:V Skyrim where we could have someone who follows our orders, is useful and is personalized to how we want them to look and fight. One feature still missing from ESO is the follower system. I know we can get followers in quests and combat pets, but that is not real ES followers. My suggestion is to make content in veteran ranks much more difficult, and add followers (1 per person) who can help in quests and combat. You could possibly meld your follower like you would create a character and be able to customize it like your character. They could also level with you and the gear they have equipped will scale to their level. Imagine being able to go to a tavern and meet a slave worker, talking to him/her pulls you up into a menu to craft your follower's looks and combat preferences and then whisking them off on your adventures. Being voiced would be nice, but not necessary .

Combat:
DPS - Choice of Destruction staff, Bow, Dual-Wielding and Two-Handed (maybe even class trees who knows?)
Tank- Shield and one-handed (Duh)- Deals slightly less damage then the player, but has an increased threat, but no an overpowered stress that the player isn't attack
Heal- Restoration Staff/Herablist - Will heal the player over time and assist slightly with damage and if the player falls below 10% health does a burst heal with a long cooldown. Herbalists will stay near the character at all times and do not use magic but herbs and rare plants and remedies.

Customization:
Features: Any of the races except imperial unless you have imperial edition, and can create charcaters as they would a normal character.
Gear: Will only equip items for cosmetic purposes, so everyone's follower is equal and non are overpowered or underpowered.
Players could possibly type a backstory for RP'ers to read etc.

Group content:
-If you are in a group doing a group dungeon, followers will not be allowed to be summoned inside the dungeon and cannot participate.

Death:
-When followers are defeated you will have to use a soul gem to resurrect him/her or you could quick-travel to a wayshrine and they will re-appear.
NO RESUMMONING!
-Followers cannot resurrect you
-Followers cannot die permanently (for the weaklings ofc :P)

Relationship:
-Players can develop relationships with followers by giving them certain gifts, or talking to them in conversation.
-If followers make good/evil decisions depending on the followers personality their relationship changes. ( in quests etc)
-Followers will lose relationship points when killed (only a little)

That's all my ideas on followers, if u guys have any more ideas or suggestions add them to list.

IF YOU WANT FOLLOWERS TYPE: ''/SIGNED''

They do try to pay homage to this with quests where you take a healer, mage, or warrior with you on some quest. The final battles of Coldharbor actually have quite a bit of followers.

But it would be nice that at some point for us to have our own Followers that are unique to us. Maybe even be allowed to customize and name them.

i cant get group for dungeons almost 100% of the time,
hard quests just cant do and no one willing to help, the list goes on and on for the reasons we need followers.
i want to have followers sooo badly, they would fit perfect!

There were hireable companions in beta, and pvp mercenaries at launch. If npc companions ever come back in any form, I think the player using one needs to get half or less of the xp they would otherwise get, and not be able to earn any cp. That way it would still work for those that want it as a play style, without giving an unfair advantage to botters or grinders.

If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

I smiled when I read you want to make vet ranks harder and balanced for a small group. Takes me back... I play this MMO to interact with people, not bots, and I rarely use followers in Bethesda games. I don't consider them a key or even an important feature. But to each their own.
