Greetings everyone, and Zenimax.
I recently bought the book "Tales of Tamriel - Book 1: The Land", and it was quite a nice read, really recommended for everyone that would like more insight into the lore of the Elder Scrolls.
However, as a self-proclaimed "Vampire Lorewhore" in the Elder Scrolls setting, I would like to point something rather strange out...
On page 230, (which is the second last page in the book.) Cinna Scholasticus writes the following in line 18:
"By night, these hunters are possessed of extreme fortitude and a powerful ability to recover from wounds."
Now, here comes the killer, the lore studies in the book completely contradicts the ingame version of how the bloodline actually functions. In ESO, we have a 75% Decrease in Health Regen, the lore supporting this particular vampiric bloodline completely contradicts this.
Not to mention that Noxiphilic Sanguivoria is the -only- bloodline of 20 other bloodlines in Tamriel's recorded history that has a decrease in health regeneration. In fact, in all other bloodlines the vampires have had a higher increase in health recovery.
We do not have to mask it, both vampires and lycanthropes alike was gimped a lot so ESO could still serve as a functional MMO, without causing balance issues in PvP. Least to say the vampires and lycanthropes in ESO are very watered-down versions of what they normally are in the Elder Scrolls Universe, and Zenimax created this new bloodline in order for it to fit, whilst still being 100% lore legit.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, while I might have prefered a more true TES vampire experience in this game, I can still live with what we got. I merely wish to ask you, Zenimax, what is actually the case with Noxiphilic Sanguivoria and their health recovery, for the lore around it suggest that it has greatly increased, yet the ingame representation of it shows the direct opposite, and suggest that they infact has a lower health recovery than all other bloodlines, and mortals alike.
So.. Lawrence Schick, our might loremaster, what can we roleplayers, and other lorehounds count on? The lore book, or the ingame representation?
(Or even better, please change it so the 75% decrease becomes an increase instead! To fit with all previous bloodlines!)
Sincerely
A big Elder Scrolls vampire lore fan.
