ALL chat goes mute when I unplug my mic.

Whenever I unplug my headset, the chat goes mute, to where I have to relog to fix it, it shows people talking but no voice. It's. annoying because for one, keeping the headset In drains my controller battery so I unplug it in and put, and there's a 90% chance the chat will go mute.
