Armour weapon set guide prices

Hi guys I've just made a level 10 iron deaths wind set ( with greatsword)
I'm gonna use it a while but was thinking if I wanted to sell it how much is the set worth
Has anyone got guide prices on sets etc??

It's now bound to you once you put it on. All crafted sets do that.
Crafted sets on PC sell for peanuts. Few hundred a piece. Cannot even sell 7 trait pieces for eight hundred in R'awl kha.

How are blacksmiths supposed to make money!!! Lol

It only binds to you if you equip it. If you make sure not to wear the gear you make you can sell them. The amount you can sell sets for depends on the level of the gear (level of materials you're using, such as iron, steel and so on) and if you're adding traits, which would use up any of your trait stones. Idk if you're on console or PC, but prices are different on both because console hasn't been out long and the market is still highly in flux.

Basic materials can come pretty cheap and easily so don't charge too much for those if possible, such as the iron/jute/rawhide etc...5-10g per ingot/cloth etc is pretty fair. Most materials sell in guild traders for about 2000g for a stack of 200, if it's fairly priced, which is 10g each. If you're harvesting your own then it's free besides your time. So if you're crafting pieces that require lets say 8 ingots per piece, maybe charge about 80g per piece +50-100g for your trait gems if they ask for a trait. 100g is for hard to find ones. If they can give you trait gems and even improvement materials then you can add that for free or a reduced fee since it costs you nothing but a little extra time. Style materials for the basic motifs are only 15g each per item. For rare style materials check traders for current pricing. Just always be on the lookout for people over pricing. You'll get a feel for it over time.

This all requires a bit of math on us crafters part, but you can sell your crafted sets for a decent profit. Most crafters add on a little extra to the price depending on how many traits the set requires you to know. This way you get some return on the time and materials invested in research. This is also a bit of a personal preference. Plus you want to add some extra to give you a profit for your time otherwise you'll just be breaking even.

A very basic set can start around 1000g and can go up from there depending on improvement materials added. Honing stones, dwarvin oil etc cost a pretty penny, so charge accordingly. Check guild traders and area chat for the going rates. They change quite a bit.

Overall it takes some time to get a feel for the market and what others will pay, but don't be afraid to turn down a sale if the person is trying to take advantage of you and get it for basically nothing. Sometimes people don't understand just how much time and money goes into crafting and will try to short-change you. On the flip side, try to be as fair as possible and you should be fine. I've sold sets with traits for 3, 000-5,000g and as a thank you tossed in a free glyph or upgraded a piece to fine etc to those who are polite and especially anyone who is a repeat customer. If you're lucky you'll get some customers who will toss you an extra tip in the form of materials they don't use etc, but I don't go in expecting it.

I think tonight I'm going to make a steel level 20 deaths wind set and try to sell it on the guild store
I'm upgrading my bs Passover and can now research 2 items a time which is a godsend
I can't wait to craft the rarest items and sets
The best thing is knowing you have made your own weapons and armour
I have been selling mats and ingots/cloth that I don't use and I agree I'm getting about 1200 a stack of 100 which is great
Also tempers are really good for profit I love picking up a grain solvent
I'm learning that money can be made in blacksmith img it just req time and effort,I'm loving this game I love being in a guild and selling items and questing to get more items then deconstructing and crafting and repeat!!

What do you think a steel deaths wind can go for(level 20 no traits)1000-1500?

The armor sets that most people buy have useful traits on them like infused, divines, training, exploration and reinforced. For the lower levels training or exploration are really good as they increase your skill and experience gained. If your selling white armor, usually a couple hundred gold per item is a good place for it as long as they have a trait on it. So 5 items sold could easily get you 1000-1500 gold.

1. Selling Refined Mats
2. Selling Traited Items for Research
3. Selling Crafted Set Items on Spec
4. Selling items to fill an order you get from Zone Chat

The first two will give you 95% of your income from blacksmithing, and it can be a decent amount over time. The third will be be an item that will sit in the store and more than likely someone will break the set buying one of the items for research purposes. The 4th is not easy to do on the consoles as the Zone Chat or Guild Chat is not there.

Equipment Crafting is not a source of income directly, but inversely. You make money by not having to spend money on gear. The reasons are, when leveling, people are leveling past their gear too quickly to invest in a crafted set. When people are at end game, their needs are very specific and specialized so making things to spec is not going to be successful. You might get some business from those who want some thing specific. But, your going to be running around to two or three different crafting stations to fill any one order. And, that's if the customer does not get cute and spend time at ESO Fashion picking a racial style for the boots, a different racial style for the legs and chest, etc etc.

Then, most people run a mix of armors, meaning you have to be a crafter in all 3 professions to fill a customer's needs. In addition, Crafted Sets really start to have some good bonuses only after they are improved. So, not only are you gambling that someone will want the specific set you made, but then you have to use your precious tempers to get it improved. And, someone will then just buy it it break it down to get your Temper back.

I can't wait to get to end game and then the big money opportunities will happen
It is really nice to make your own gear as well so I will keep pursuing it !

I will agree that it's better to make sets to order than ahead of time and hope someone needs it. If you're going to sell crafted set pieces I would only sell an item if it's a leftover from an order you made a mistake on or something a customer flaked on you with, if you're ever stuck in that situation.

Maybe I've just been lucky but I haven't run into many of the issues I hear a lot of crafters talk about. Sometimes though it's a matter of being proactive. I make sure I group up with the client so I can leave area chat and focus on their order. If they are asking for something very complex or involving many materials including tempers, you are within your rights to either ask for them to provide their own tempers or to pay for half the set cost now and half at completion. If they refuse that, afraid of being scammed, it's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk of using your own mats. As I said before you could always turn around and sell the pieces in guild trade later if they flake out but that's not a great consolation for many. For me, it wouldn't bother me, but I would also feel out each person and try to get my best impression of them while discussing their order. Most set crafting stations are near wayshrines, so although it can be a little bit of a pain to go from station to station, it's also not a huge deal...at least to me. Unless I get hit with a long load screen it's not a huge waste of time.

Also, if you're charging for your tempers as you should, then it would honestly be a huge waste of money for anyone to take something you made and break it down just for the chance of getting 1 temper when it takes 3 or more to improve a piece. They could just buy them in guild stores or in area chat for much less.

Now I definitely agree those at end game will have very specific needs, but honestly they are the ones I'd expect would know or will soon learn that they might need to use multiple crafters to get all their needs met. I personally can't wait to have enough traits and be leveled enough to make awesome Veteran sets for those who need it. But not getting screwed with or cheated out of your hard work will require you to know your crafts, and the market and have a good feel for people in general. It's a learning curve, but for me that's fun. You also have the option of finding a few good friends or mates you meet online to work together in crafting high level gear when you get there. Maybe set up days you can all jump online together and you can all help fill in the blanks that the others are missing. Let's say you do armor, you friends do enchantments and possibly woodworking...etc. Just throwing it out there. Also I have personally found plenty of lower level players looking for good armor, not always a whole set either. Some may be getting plenty of good drops but haven't found any good boots or shoulder pieces in a while and may want a few pieces either from a set or just basic pieces that are better than they have. Honestly from personal experience I have made a few sets for friends who provided their own tempers to upgrade to fine level with one or two superior items and they have told me on more than one occasion that the ones I made them they were still using several levels later because they rarely found dropped pieces that were better. So not everyone will want to wait until Vet levels to get good set gear.

It can be hard but try to not let the customers push you around or waste your time, if someone is doing what Nestor said and is sitting on ESO Fashion or just in general doesn't know what they really want and they're taking up too much of your valuable time...just politely ask them to add you as a friend/join a guild you're in/ or write down your gamer tag, go take some time to look up online and write down everything they want, and when they're ready with all the info you need to message you and you will gladly fill their order. If they don't come back, then just consider yourself lucky to have not wasted your time. If they do, then you won't have to worry as much with waiting around for them to make decisions. If someone is trying to pressure you into giving them free traits or upgrades it might be better to politely decline their order and tell them, I'm sorry maybe I'm not the right one to help you. I am not in a position to give away expensive and rare materials for nothing. And they can be on their way.

For Zone chat on consoles, although not ideal, it still works at getting orders and making trades. Some zones are next to impossible to do this in like Riften. It's so noisy there I don't even bother. Idk what Alliance you're in but once you find a major city (like Mournhold for EP) where you have enough people to make it worth your time but usually not too many to make listening to area chat like being in a living hell, you can get some business done. I have also had a lot of luck with trading traits with other players looking for things to research. If they didn't have what I needed then they were glad enough to trade me an equal amount of trait gems for the items I made, plus a little gold for the base materials and my time. Some have even given me tempers in place of money, which I am always glad to get. Again, if someone is asking for help with traits to research and you say "sure, do you have xyz for me to research" and they say no and then they give you a hard time about paying you for your materials or offering a trade...then you're well in your right to refuse. They don't like it? Too bad. As long as you're not asking them to pay you insane amounts of money then they shouldn't have a problem. I made, I wanna say about just under 10 items for one person who not only have me an equivalent amount of trait gems back but also have me around 2000g+, plus a few tempers for my time and materials. He was polite and gracious so it was a pleasant transaction. Now he comes to me any time he needs traits and I help when I can with a similar trade each time. We both get what we need/want and both leave happy. If a player is talking/acting shady or like they want something for nothing, you are never obliged to help them, and in turn can avoid a lot of the crummy interactions many crafters face.

Again, maybe I've just been lucky and haven't had as many bad experiences so I might be looking at it through rosy colored glasses but crafting for others doesn't have to be a bad experience if you are careful to cover your own butt and be cautious with each new transaction. ^-^ Good Luck out there. Better off making a bespoke set. People often message me asking or are asking in zone chat for someone to make daedric/ancient elf/barbaric. Usually make it for 5k for the daedric and 3k for the others. I'll then make it to the level they want and ask about attributes and plausible then make them 5 and 4/3 sets to reflect that. For imperial and the other I just do 1k. Made a good 25-30k since starting to do it two weeks ago.

One thing to note, I don't think you can see the Racial Style in the list of items being sold on the console. I can't on the PC unless I use an Addon. So, making Purple Motif armors and weapons will not get any special attention if you just make them and list them in the guild stores. So, only do these to order.

People can tell the Racial style by the image. I know all the rare styles when I see them
