can you crit with a staff? or spells? i know you can but for me i can't

I know you can and it counts as weapon damage if it's not an ability but mine never lets me crit from stealth it's so weird so now my damage is lacking and better yet it won't let me spell crit

Staves and most spells do not have the stealth guaranteed crit and crit damage bonus. Because some BS reasons.

@PBpsy oh okay thanks i was wondering it always doesn't crit when im in stealth then it says im detected and i am not

is there a specific reason why staff's don't get this,, it's not like magicka builds have been shafted enough but you can't even get a basic stealth crit off? Pretty sure i could stealth crit punch someone...

Duel Wield has a passive that let's them crit for more for damage when stealth.

Is it only DW and Bow's which have a stealth multiplier?

No, any physical weapon has the multiplier. Khajit and Bosmer have bonus damage from stealth, nightblade's get a passive for it as well. Basically my Bosmer 2h NB can cast Wrecking Blow from stealth and 1 shot just about any equal level non elite mob.

Why spells don't get the crit multiplier? I can't say. IIRC there are set bonuses that allow a watered down version for spells, but I can't say I've ever heard of someone building around it.

I see, DW just get's a little extra because of the passive.

Stave attacks are ranged and they glow?

Destro attacks do elemental damage.

Resto heavy attacks restore mana.

That's the point we're making I believe. Spells don't auto crit from stealth, though they can gain a damage bonus via NB/Bosmer/Khajit passives. Your stamina build was likely using stamina morphs and weapon skills, all of which gain the crit and damage bonus.

Thank you for pointing out some of those BS reasons.

In other news swords are shiny and give you stamina on heavy attacks and so do bows.
Also Destro grants magicka also.
