xp bonus question

I just recently reached level 30 on my NB khajit and i've only been able to obtain a lvl 15 on both, blacksmith and clothing. I even took a break on this toon and made a breton templar and i would come across stuff to switch to my khajit for decon and it seems i'm not getting anywhere fast. I just see people say they normally are able to lvl their craft along with their toon lvl but how is that even possible especially if you try to master all of them. Does receiving the monthly xp bonus help towards crafting as well or is it only the toon lvl itself?

Yes ESO Plus adds to crafting inspiritaion (xp) gain. It also shortens research times by 10% :)

There is also a Champion Passive that increases Inspiration by 10%, but you won't unlock that until you get to VR and put 30 points (IIRC) into the Constellation for it.

I see. Another question. I just read that dedicating a character to crafting only is the way to go rather than using your main to learn crafts, since it takes away from skill points. Which honestly I have noticed. Do you recommend that type of strategy? I almost like the idea but I feel like that will put me wayyyy behind now that i've put so much time in to the 2 toons i have. templar is 25 WW/Enchanting, and like i said NB is lvl 15 BS/Clother. I need to make a mule too lol

I did that and it does get very tough at certain points. I have my crafter at VR2 and she is lacking is battle - that's for sure. Commonly what I see people do is split the crafts up between their characters - so in the end they know all the crafts but between different characters, this also helps alleviate the skill points issue. It's really up to personal preference. You could also just focus on some crafts for now, and later on when you have skill points to spare really start to get into crafting. AKA -decon everything with your character - but don't actually put skill points in until later on. Of course this leaves you not knowing the craft during levelling, but I'm sure there are many people that do know that can craft you stuff in the mean time (usually for free or a small fee if you supply the mats)

You can have a character be deadly and learn a couple of crafts while leveling. But more crafts than that and you will struggle to be deadly. You will still juggle being deadly and crafty even with 2 crafts, but it is doable.

You can always respec later, so leveling a character to VR, having them decon along the way to level crafting, and then speccing them into a crafter is also another way to do this. You could even do this while building up the two crafts.

It was not until VR14 that I was able to make my Sorcerer both deadly and a Master Crafter in all crafts.

Awesome thanks much for the input. Solves my dilemma of feeling like I wasted time. I'll just re-spec and focus on crafting later then.

Just for a counterpoint of view, I have all crafts at 50 on my V8 main character and have never felt disadvantaged due to skill points. I do not PVP. I think if I did, then I might feel differently about skill points. But for PVE, no problem.
