Vampire or werewolf

Why is everyone wanting to either be a vampire or a werewolf? Which one is better? I need to be sold on the merits here. I don't plan on being either one unless someone convinces me otherwise....

15% stam regen with no negatives on the WW side. Currently there is no reason to not pick up WW no matter your build. I never wanted to be either of them myself, but that stam regen sold me on it.

Vamp is more dependent on build/role, but even that may change with the reduction in fire damage that they take. Overcoming 25% is quite easy.

Beyond the mechanical reasons some people just want them because they think their cool.

If you don't want to be bitten, then don't get bit. There are pros and cons to each. If you feel neither transformation would suit your build, then you're not missing out on anything. Most people just think it's cool and are attracted to the supernatural aspect. That, and the passives are nice. Nice, but not absolutely necessary.

The ultimate for Vampire is pretty useful, giving you an AoE DoT attack for when you run into bigger groups, or if you decide to grind. Also the quick movement while in stealth is quite handy, especially if you go for a lot of sneak crits or stealing. The fire damage is quite a downside as there's a lot of fire attacks in PvE, though as it's been said, if fire damage is reduced it'll be no trouble to overcome.
