Three things that really irk me about this game

Azurephoenix999
Azurephoenix999
✭✭✭✭✭
1. Enemy spots you. You try to flee. Enemy keeps following you. You sprint to try and get away, draining your stamina. Enemy keeps following you. You run out of stamina and try to mount your horse to get away, you can't because combat. Enemy keeps following you. Enemy hits you, reducing your health. Enemy immediately stops following you and runs off. Other enemies attack you before you recover your health. You can't block due to no stamina, and they beat you to death. Enemy that followed you is skipping back to his hovel laughing his *** off.
The enemies don't ever seem to stop following you until they hit you with an attack or vice versa. You might think that it'd be much simpler to attack the enemy that was following you, and while I'd agree with you...it shouldn't be necessary. The enemies should stop following you after a while which, in my experience, they simply don't.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm talking about PVE.

2. The fact that guards do absolutely nothing if something is trying to kill you in their presence. They're guards. They're supposed to protect citizens, but they're perfectly happy to allow an enemy to murder you right in front of them. They do not even attempt to help you despite supposedly being on your side. The guards should do more than simply apprehend naughty players. The same goes for other NPCs. They don't respond in any way if a hostile mob is nearby. They should at least cower or something, make it look believable.

3. Trying to find a specific item for trade is a nightmare. I've been looking for a Roast Chicken recipe for three weeks now, nobody I've asked has it, neither have any of the guild stores I've looked through. If there was some kind of global auction house, or the consoles had Text Chat/Zone Chat, then it'd be a thousand times easier.

I'm not the only one who thinks this (contrary to what you might believe, guy who keeps harassing me) and the fact that I'm assaulted with various insults every time I bring this issue up is making me hate this issue in particular even more (I swear to god if he shows up here...).

Hehe, I find point 1 kinda funny. I go talk to an npc and conversation is interrupted due to me getting hit. I turn to see the enemy running away again 'mother****** just trolled me!'

They are fair points. The enemies do follow you for a long time - do the invis potions make them drop off if you use them? I haven't tried yet but suspect that's what they're for.

I haven't tried invisi potions. I will do that next time it happens and will report back with the results.

    3. I like the guild trader system better than an auction house, it allows for more diverse marketing and trading, although I feel for your plight, I too was once looking for a "common" recipe for a long long time. Still haven't found it.

#3 LOL. My very first provisioner writ is for Carrot Soup, a level 1 recipe. I can't find it to save my life. Even went back to the starter islands for looting and still didn't get it. Constantly checking guild stores but I never see it. I've heard people say you can destroy your provisioner writ and take a new one but that must be a PC thing because I have not been able to figure out how to do that on the console.

The AI in this game isn't just terrible it's nonexistent. They have really dropped the ball on this one especially since the previous titles did a lot to improve the Radiant AI system. I agree with you 100% about the leashing of NPCs and the useless guards.

#1 is the most annoying. But #2 is real close. I've had the following situtation happen way too many times; I'm fighting a NPC near a guard zone or in town, guard does nothing but walks into my attack, suddenly I get bounty and guard attacking me because of bad AI design.

Upgrade your riding skill. When you have it maxed, you are so fast that you dont aggro the red bars. You are there and gone too quick for the NPCs to go from their detection mode to aggro mode!

    Solutions to all these problems:

1 - Just hi the enemy, if he is too far away to "fight" he will just flee. As you are running, drop an AoE along the way, it should make the enemies flee right away.

2- Sometimes there are fights in town or enemies close to the gates. Seeing as guards are impossible to kill, people would just be running mudcrabs into town all day for exp/loot (yes, they are that pathetic)

3- Guilds guilds and guilds + guild stores. Just keep searching, it will eventually pop up. Cant have ALL recipes at your fingertips.

i needed it for a crafting writ, but I had to abandon it and move on when I couldn't find the recipe.

I've never had an instance where an enemy didn't stop following me after a while. Actually they follow me a much shorter distance than most other games I have played.

Are you saying that you want to walk around without the risk of being attacked? Part of the skill, and the fun of the game is to 'watch where you walk'. I think it would get boring quick if one could just walk around unimpeded.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm talking about PVE.

This is an oddity that I hope they eventually address.

The noise that announces that you are in the proximity detection of a mob is, unfortunately, something that does not always get noticed. When it is, and I am being chased by someone I do not want to be chased by, I never run into a group of other mobs.

Recipes of a specific nature are not something that can be deliberately obtained. The are random drops in the game. That means that it is possible, for any given recipe, that none will be for sale anywhere at any price. On top of that, items in limited quantity can easily be purchased by someone else, meaning none are available when you finally come along.

Due to the lack of immediate gratification, items that are unusual or in short supply are likely to be available longer in the guild trader system than they would be in the global auction house. What might sell in one or two seconds to someone else in a global auction house will be there longer for YOU to find in a guild trader.

I am speaking from experience with global auction houses in other games. ZOS has done good here, by my measure.

For those of you stuck on the writ recipes there is a work around.
For provisioning, you don't have to actually make the food as long as it is crafted by Someone. If a friend or guildie has it, just get them to make you a batch and stick it in your bank to use when you need them. Also someone might be selling the actual food item in the stores, too, and that will work.

I know that you can simply abandon writs if you don't have the recipe. The problem is that then you have to wait until the next day to get a new one. You know what happened to me the first time I tried that? I got the exact same writ the next day.

I know that #3 works for some people, but if you're looking for something specific it can be really difficult if it's a rare item. If there was a centralised place people could go (anywhere. Absolutely anywhere as long as all players could access it) then it would be easier to find things. Not saying they should abandon guild traders...it's just that they don't work for everything and ZOS seems to be under the impression that they are.
