Xbox One Elite Controller Support

Hi guys,

Does anyone know whether there are plans to include additional ability mapping on the Xbox One for players using the new Elite Controller when it releases?

I'm still not sure if I am going to buy one of these controllers, but it would definitely sway my decision if Elder Scrolls consider allowing you to map additional abilities to the additional controls that the Elite Controller will provide!

Cheers!

The controller has it own mapping internally. There will be no need to involve the game. You set what buttons you want on the controller software. Then just play the game. So if you move the X button to one of the bottom 4 buttons. ESO will not know the difference. ESO will just think you are hitting the X button.

I for one will have this controller day 1, cant wait.

Why would it allow mapping of additional abilities?
I don't play on PC but I'm pretty sure they can't map a skill to every key on the board.

I have never re-mapped a key since playing ESO (XBOX). So I am not even sure what they allow or do not allow. I just know the Xbox elite uses an internal mapping software that is installed on the controller so it will not matter what ESO allows or does not allow. You will be able to change the buttons around as you see fit.

If you are asking to get more abilities than 5 because you are using a different input then:

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Do you know if this will also include the ability to save different game profiles to your controls?

I would like if they did make mapping for the elite. I dont want more attacks but it would be hella nice to get on my mount without holding select down for a minute and a half

Then buy the elite controller and make that button do something else.

In short when you buy the controller, you can change any existing button to another button which means mount can move from "select" to A, X, Y, Z, etc but whatever button it's assign to, you'll have to hold it down.

The controller allows you to change the buttons around but it doesn't offer command assignment changes

    Make sense?

yeah it makes sense but then one of my attacks will be on the select button. Have you played an MMO on a PC? You can hit one button to bring up map and hit one to bring up your mount. You can do that even with ESO on PC. Just saying since the elite has more buttons (and PC sees it as multiple more buttons on computer so dont say that they have to be the same as the A B X or Y buttons) but since there are more buttons, it would be nice to use them in a helpful manner. Thats all I was saying. but yeah your idea would work, it would just be worse then the way it is now.

    thanks for the effort though

Yes, I've played quite a few MMOs on PC sin the 1990's and even own this on PC.

The elite DOES NOT have more buttons which is a big misconception.
It has 4 optional things which only duplicate existing buttons. They can't be used as unique buttons nor can the controller assign commands. Honestly unles u just want one, it's overpriced for what it offers. The knobs and paddles are gimics as well as the d-pad.

If u want to customize the rumble, trigger a little, swap out thumb sticks and a d-pad for $150 then it's for you but otherwise it's not going to offer anything you're expecting.

    I have one op.

Yo ucan basically swap buttons. Either to other buttons, or to one of the four paddles underneath. Bur whatever function the old button had, the new one.

Select or the new button will still bring up map and call mount. You still need two buttons to cc break. A or the new button will still jump and interact.

You can't split a buttons use and add it to another.
