The great tree quest glitch

I'm trying to complete the great tree quest and it's asking to speak with Captain Jimila in vulkhel guard. I have already done that and it's not showing up on my map. The capt is no where to be found.
I met with Jimila and had a drink with the capt. Then met the capt in skywatch and came to ghatwood. I didn't pay attention to the quest and then I went exploring started some new quests and eventually took care of the haven quests. I decided to go ahead and knock out the great tree quest. The only thing I can think of is I finished the haven quest before I did the great tree quest, but I don't know. I'm more concerned about it affecting the Queen quests. If I don't complete this quest will I not be able to finish the Queens quest? Thank you for your time
