How to level up armor?

If you ever look at an ore's description it says that "this can be used to make items from level X to X" which in my case is iron ore, but it only allows me to make level 1 armor. Is there a way for me to upgrade the armor's level?

✭Increase the amount of iron ingots you're using, and the level of the armor you're making will go up.5
