NB leveling spec?

Hey, anybody can give me any tips on leveling NB? Kinda frustrated right now at lvl 18 I ran into some open dungeon with my Argonian and got totally wrecked by the groups there together with my magefriend. I literally instantly died to the 1000+ dmg these things were dealing in a matter of 3 seconds. I watched a dragonknight AOE kill these groups easily and I was asking myself, does my NB suck or is it my spec? I was Dualwield specced but I don't seem to have the AOE capabilities to do such groups?

Anybody can give me a good leveling spec for a nightblade?

    Lots of good builds here

Note, most of these are end game, but the theory is still good for leveling.

Now, NB's are the trikiest class to play, but can be one of the most powerful if you play to the strengths. It's all about Crowd Control and Burst Damage. Using Cloak and Surprise Attack, you can take down most mobs in two actions. You control the others with Fear or Shades or the Path command (slows the enemies down and gives you more speed).

Also, once you unlock Steel Tornado, then your AoE will get much better. Especially if you use that with Sap Essence.

And, finally, don't stand in one place. Move around so the mobs can't target you, stay out of red. If you dont' know how to Dodge Roll or Interrupt or Block then learn how. Note the first two are key to success.

If you watch his videos you will see he never stays in one place, always positioning himself, trying to get to Stealth, moving after striking, things like that.

As a NB your Mobile, Agile and Deadly, or your Stand Still and Dead. Its your choice.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Been playing a NB since console launch (which aint long), and it has been noted that NBs are a bit squishy. Decent burst dmg, but not really tanky. We lack a good self heal that's not a DOT, or some bleed @#&^ that doesn't proc on bosses.

Many of the NB skills seemed "bugged", or have vague tool tips that don't cover the actual effect. That said there are numerous NB builds you can search for. NBs are more single target dmg focused than AOE (except WHIRLWIND maybe).

I find if yer getting wrecked in PVE sub vet levels then check yer gear levels in relation to your current character level. Gear becomes obsolete for the most part every 3-4 levels pre vet. Go get some shards and prop up some passives.

I like SOUL TETHER for my ultimate. I usually run a bow bar, and a dual wield bar, but am often reminded that dual wield is not great. Many like 2handed for dmg/effect, or resto-staff for heal survival.

I like FUNNEL HEALTH, and KILLER BLADE, and DARK CLOAK to kill DOTs.

Yes, DW/Medium Armor go well with Night Blade Skills, there are many many ways to approach a fight. I am currently using DW and 2H on my NB, having recently stopped using the Destro Staff. The Destro Staff is not as effective as it used to be as there are no real hybrid builds anymore. So, the skill side of the Destro Staff can suffer with a Stamina Build. But, as a weapon to weave in light and heavy attacks in between NB skills it can be quite effective.

In other words, go with what works for you, and someone else's build may or may not, but it can give you some ideas for what you want to do.
