Serpent's fang kill the Armorer not updating in quest log

Am i missing something? The group i was in killed the armorer 2 times in upper craglorn and it never updated any of our quest logs. I shouted in zone chat and someone said its been bugged forever. I cant find any other posts on this quest so im not sure if its a bug or something Im doing wrong. As far as i know that quest line is the only way to gain a random nirnhoned item.
