Okay, after 3 days since the reveal how the elite curreny in ic works, i calmed down and i have some questions about camelot and darkness falls which is supposed to be similiar.

1. Right now everyone is worried about gankers and zerg trains. Did those exist in that game too? Where there pvpers/pvp guilds which hunted those down or did they farm noobs too?
2. Balance. Where the different classes in camelot similiar strong or are some better in pve or pvp like in eso?
3. Where there dailies for a save income? If yes, could you actually afford stuff and how long did it take to get all the goodies in average, a month, 3 months, a year or even longer?
4. Where there exploits/"skill" in camelot like lag spam, getting past walls, 3 mundus stone buffs and such?
5. How did darkness developed over the time? Did pvpers got tired at some point while pvers grind in peace in the meantime?
6. How bad was griefing or did it exist at all in camelot? I got 15 times killed by the same two nightblades ( at that point they pretty much got no ap from me ) in bruma and got insulted over pm how bad i am.

I played DAOC from launch for many years and Darkness Falls was one of my favourite hangouts, both grouped and solo. So here's my perspective:

    1) Yes, gankers, griefers and zerg trains were one of the risks of PVE'ing in a PvP dungeon like Darkness Falls (DF). However, each realm had a strong community and guild / alliance unity, so often players would hunt down the gankers in a confined space like DF.

    2) Class balance in DAOC was highly variable. 3 realms, each with 16 unique (and very different) classes is hard to balance perfectly. Some classes were more suited to PVE, some to PvP, some to solo play, some to group play. In a PvP dungeon like DF the classes that did best were those with stealth and anyone who could survive well (often survival meant fighting both mobs and the gankers until help arrived).

    3) No. Not when I was playing (might be now, haven't played for several years). Crafting was a big part of DAOC and people mostly used the Darkness Falls currency to buy items to break down for crafting or raw materials to sell for coin.

    4) In the early days yes, there were some exploits such as lag casting. But they nailed most of the exploits down. DAOC was always a pretty tight ship for exploits and it was usually obvious when someone was using one.

    5) Darkness Falls action usually progressed in waves. Only one realm had access at a time ( I think this changed more recently). When ownership changed hands the incoming realm often tried to purge DF of enemy players, but there were a variety of ways to avoid the purge - hiding, logging out for a while etc. So even when the PvP action settled down and people got on with their PVE farming, pockets of fighting would erupt as gankers logged back in or came out of hiding.

    6) Variable depending on time of day and realm. Players weren't worth as much Realm Points (i.e. Alliance Points) after the first kill, so there wasn't much point in repeatedly ganking the same player. But that's not to say it didn't happen, some people just get a kick out of it.

The BIG difference with Darkness Falls and the proposed Imperial City system is that all the currency (seals) you earned in Darkness Falls you kept, even if ganked. So, whilst there was risk / reward, you weren't able to be robbed of all the currency you'd earned. The 'risk' component was unless someone could rezz you, if your realm didn't currently hold access to DF you;d be booted out and couldn't get back in. And even if your realm did have access you'd have to run back from your homeland if you couldn't get a rezz.
