Racial Style: Aedric

I think there should be an Aedric racial style. Something that is the exact opposite of the Daedric style. Instead of being demonic and fearsome, it should be serene and graceful. Instead of being black and red it should be white and blue.
In terms of quality, it could be Legendary (gold text) like Imperial.

It could be available (although rare) in the base game, but it could also be bought in the crown store for a reasonable amount of crowns.

Now, in terms of the item that will be needed to craft the Aedric style...hm...maybe Welkynd Stones? it is clearly stated in Oblivion that finding a sample of Aedra blood is much more difficult than finding Daedric blood...so it'd have to be something rare.

The lore side of this is cool but cosmetically, I feel like this will be very similar to the glass motif we're all waiting for.

Ebony is the blood of Lorkhan, so technically anything you forge out of Ebony is Aedric.

Which is why I hate that Ebony is so trivial in ESO. It should be the best material, by far.

As far as style goes, no. There is a specific Daedric style because Oblivion is actually a place where things can be forged. No such thing exists for Aedra.

I still think it could be different in some way to glass. Maybe they could give Aedric armor pieces some kind of glow?

    Also, glass...*drool*

The aedra don't really create relics or forge things and what not. While the draedra take on physical forms the aedra just don't really.

"Aedraic" armour does not exist. I guess the closest thing in lore would be Tiber Septim's armour (oblivion main quest) and even then, that armour was his before he became Talos. And in ESO he isn't even born yet, or as someone mentioned, Ebony armour.

Couldn't the armor of Pelinal Whitestrake count as an Aedric artifact, since each piece came from one of the divines?
Also, I think as long as they came up with a convincing explanation as to why it exists (and also why it seems to have been forgotten about in Oblivion, where Martin says they don't have artifacts) then they could probably make it happen.

For why it exists, maybe it could have something to do with future DLC? There could be some kind of trial where you must prove yourself to the divines. The best players could get the motif as a reward (becoming champions of the Aedra, they would essentially bless you with the knowledge to create armor that reflects your pure soul).

I'm just throwing ideas onto the table in the hopes that one of them will be picked up. I just think it'd be awesome to have divine armor.

Aedric inspiration, not necessarily Aedric craft. There are enough Aedric artifacts to get an idea of how such a divine armor could look like.

I have to agree with the ebony... wish they would redo the crafting scheme anyhow. Oh, well. Maybe they will when they remove veteran ranks... one can hope!

As for aedric style, well... technically the world of nirn is the place of the aedra, much like oblivion is the place of the daedra. And if you ask them, every elf will tell you they are the descendents of the aedra. So...

Aedric style? Try "Ancient Elf" style!

All mortals are descended from the Aedra, so that wouldn't work.

According to their myths, elves are descendents of the aedra.
According to their myths, humans are creations of the aedra.

Wouldn't work for humans... but for elves? The ancient elves are supposed to be the aedras firstborn... or something like that... again, according to their own myth.

But I say again, while the daedra have their dremora to clad in "daedric" style, the aedra instead have the mortal races of nirn. So, the oldest of those styles might be as close as you can get to "aedric"...

I've mentioned this once before on the forums, but ESO isn't a main series game. It's Elder Scrolls Online, not Elder Scrolls VI: Online. Therefore, lore doesn't need to be exactly in line with the main series games (actually, the main series games' lore isn't always in line with ITSELF, but that's beside the point). Most likely, the events of ESO will NEVER be mentioned in any main series game following Skyrim. So denying an idea like this "because lore" is an unsound argument.

I, for one, am all for a "divine" sort of style, especially for my healer Templar character.

Honestly, I'm just suggesting this as purely for the awesome factor.

As for how it could fit in lore wise, maybe Aedric artifacts are just long gone by Oblivion's time (why Martin states that there aren't any).

The Knights of the Nine/Pelinal Whitestrake armor itself was not forged by the Aedra. They enchanted pieces of Whitestrake's already existing armor. There was no Aedric forge or anything like that. I agree with @Faulgor that enchantments are more along the line of how we usually see Aedric influences in armor. With that said, they could certainly implement Aedric armor pieces. A lore buff might chime in but I'll throw my two cents that I don't think it would break the lore to have Aedric armor pieces. I personally wouldn't picture it as angelic themed, although that would certainly be popular. I'm thinking more of a bright plate mail for heavy, white robes for light, and for medium I don't actually know lol.

I disagree with your statement. Lore should be in line with the other games in the series and it is part of the elder scrolls series. Just that it isn't called elder scrolls VI is cause it is not an solo player RPG.

afaik the elder scrolls series are of al the fantasy games, the one that has the most elaborate lore. Cause all installements are part of the lore, it is the most complicated lore around. Thats why there are some monstrosities needed as the warp in the west. But what I always liked in all elder scrolls game as well as in ESO, they try to make it in line with the lore as much as possible (some slip ups here and there, but still). loosing that rule and goal in favour of pleasing some people that want a motif is just not ok in my opinion.

ESO-lore is improved by Bethesba's lore gods and is 100% in line with the main lore in the other series (again the exception of good ups neglected)

Oh yes! If that armor was ingame,Id hunt and level all to hell just to get it.That was my first thought when it was put on my character! I thought it should be the reward for defeating Molag Bal. But no.The reward was so unmemorable that I cant think what it was,and I have defeated him twice now.

    Neither was Redguard.

Why not? Who do you think Cyrus in Oblivion was named for? The main character of Redguard. His story is also sung by First Mate Malvius in Oblivion. So non-main-series games can be referenced by main-series games.

Like Redguard, ESO is part of the Elder Scrolls universe, so lore consistency is desirable.

The only Elder Scrolls games I can think of that are kinda questionable are Shadowkey and Dawnstar. As far as I know those haven't been referenced elsewhere, but I could be wrong.

So far as it goes, Battlespire has been referenced heavily in the numbered games. And that's another non-numbered release.

To be fair ebony ingots/armor is pretty trivial in Skyrim too once you get daedric or dragonbone stuff, so at least it's consistent to TES.

Also i'm not sure that all ebony is lorkhan's blood, but just the ebony armor proper. But again with enough improvements via skills, you'll eventually even replace proper named sets.

Aedra don't take a physical form like Daedra, so it'd be hard to create an armor styled after them.
