Dragonknight spell reflect

Nadestepper
I am a pure sorcerer mana build and I was fighting a dragon knight who only used the restoration staff and reflect all fight. It basically turned into a never ending fight because he would never try to attack he just used his restoration staff and spell reflect. The only move I could hit with was restoration staff attack. Is there anything that can be used to counter the spell reflect or nullify it other than a melee weapon?

Use defensive posture from the shield weapon line and double reflect your attacks back to him.

thought lighting staff -Channel, bypassing reflects/block

and providing more hits to proc Elemental Drain,
-Apply Concuss, a 12% outgoing damage debuff at a high chance to apply,
-The skills disorient (mez) for Destructive Reach, and add splash damage for Destructive Clench, along with doing the concuss.

There are plenty of skills you have that can not be reflected. Learn those skills.
Kobaal - VR16 Dragon Knight - PC [NA] Azura Star
Kobaal Shadowborn - VR16 NightBlade - PC [NA] Azura Star
Kobaal Stormborn- VR3 Sorcerer - PC [NA] Azura Star

mages fury is block and reflectable.
best you can do when facing a full turtle mode DK is turn around and go away you are not going to harm him as a magica-sorc.

Basically, you got a BIG problem if you do not take enough skills into your bar specifically to counter blocking/reflecting DKs.
Velocious Curse, Lightning Flood, etc., also weapon attacks, all do not do enough damage, if the DK know what he's doing ;-)
Inevitable Detonation takes time to level and is easily blockable (they'll notice it)
DO NOT use mage guild ultimate AE, as even that can be reflected. Best anti-weapons are channeled spells, as blazing spear (templar) and pbaes (like the destro staff AE.

So, not much is left. A DK can o..oh..only reflect 4 spells, after it took the developers over 6 months to "discover" that reflecting an unlimited amount of spells is "a little bit too much" (..but that is another Eso-failed(ret.)-nurf story), but even 4 spells is a lot in a duel or 1vs2.
All you can do is to hope for some CC, or to get him in the right moment with his...down. Many of your spells will not do enough damage to really hurt an experienced DK. Velocious curse does little damage, as does any area-effect.

/edit oh, I forgot about nirnhoned and some other "defensive" stuff, in this case, if the DK has too many resistances/CP/etc. you even need more luck to get him down, as the DK has 50% mitigation, or you crits won't do the crit-dmg bonus (CP, trait, etc.)

You can bypass his reflect pretty easily, but dont worry, for the part "standing still being unkillable" youa ctually win, drop some mines, use some shields.. He wont even get thru ur shields.

Agree. Also an experienced block/reflect DK will know when to use his CC to counter shields and will probably giggle at any daedric mines tickling him.
Disabling the grass may improve performance.

There's nothing that DK can do to kill you though. If you can't kill him, and his damage is so low he can't kill you either, then it's best to just move away from each other.

Not directed at OP, but some people seem to think a build is overpowered just because they can't defeat it, they don't even consider that they can't be defeated by that build either. But they can't win so they whine.

It's like with all the incessant whining about Dark Cloak.. magicka NBs can't kill anyone who knows what they're doing, especially once they nerf the single target damage of Magicka Detonation, but they can avoid being killed so people want to nerf them. It's an incredibly short-sighted and egotistical attitude that only brings down the enjoyment of this game. The nerf-whining worked on Bolt Escape, and it will most likely work on Cloak as well. If a spiteful nerf humping minority whines hard enough, they get what they want.
