I'm confused, do i have to...

puppetmstrx
Do I have to learn traits for every piece of armor before making a set? If so, someone please tell me where I can find light armor with traits fast, because I feel like I'm stuck in 1 place. I tried a guild trader but it's been over 4 hours and I still haven't received my items... I logged out, I turned the game off, and I just restarted the console. Still no items in my mailbox... Any help?

You are required to know 2 traits on each item type you want to craft a set piece for at the three locations in the first zone. The craft set stations in the second zone are 3 trait minimum, and so on.

Do you know any way easy to get green light armor items at all?

I know of ways to get equipment in general, Rewards for the worthy, treasure chests, grinding dungeons, (particularly ones with humanoid enemies), and the occasional quest reward. But I don't know a way to make a particular type drop more often.

You don't have to learn any traits to be able to craft a regular set of armor at any regular crafting station. However, if you want to be able to craft Set Gear with set bonuses at special crafting stations, then yes, a minimum of 2 traits learned per piece of gear you want to craft is required. Some Sets in higher level zones require more traits. But if you're still a low level, I wouldn't really worry about crafting Set Gear, as you'll constantly be leveling out of that gear. You'll probably get better gear from quest rewards and drops anyway. Just research traits as you acquire them and you'll get there eventually.

Browsing Guild Traders in major cities for gear is a good method to acquire traits you don't have. Of course, that is if you ever do receive them via mail. I've gotten most of my learned traits from simply questing (quest rewards) and exploring (dungeons, opening chests, enemy drops, etc.). I have multiple characters across all alliances and trade items I receive between them frequently. I'd recommend that you keep progressing through the game, do all quests you come across, explore all the dungeons, and maybe even spend some time in Cyrodiil (you will be rewarded with items via mail every so often if you go around capturing keeps and whatnot). Also, if you haven't already, work on leveling your crafting skills so you can buy the passives in them that reduce research times and allow you to research multiple items at once.

You might also check the Clothier npc vendors (maybe fighter's guild?) I've never done it myself but I've heard of people buying items from them to decon for traits. A little expensive tho.

My best bet was always just to trade with guildies for traits.

Just so i'm clear. are those Set crafting stations only after you have reached VR status? I'm pretty new to mmo's but i'm learning a lot just from reading other peoples forums. I'm currently at lvl 23 or 24 woodworking with several traits learned. I was recently confused about how researching traits worked as well but finally found the answer i think. I'll ask again to be sure. Does it matter what lvl item you research for traits? like how epic with ias would be more than a white, does that matter?

It doesn't matter what level the gear is for learning a trait (though that might affect how much crafting inspiration you receive for learning the trait). So whether you research Reinforced using a level 1 piece of gear or a level 30 piece of gear, the trait will be the same level/value.

Set crafting stations are available in all zones - there are 3 different sets per zone. You can access them as long as you have access to that zone. Note also, that the veteran zones contain these same crafting stations, so there are only a total of 15 crafting sets (excluding Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild, and Craglorn).

Here is a --> {Crafting Guide} <-- to help you. As far as your mail is concerned, are you sure you made the purchases? Did the game take your money, did you have enough money to buy what you were wanting? If so, and you've logged out and back in and still haven't gotten the mail, then I would suggest submitting a ticket.

Thanks a lot for the speedy response. One more question though. Do you happen to know where i can find the locations of these said set crafting stations in daggerfall covenant?

I would like to second a previous comment. Just going into a heavy player/Crafting area and trading to create item with trait said person does not have for a trait you do not have works great. Much easier than farming for it and most people will trade straight up.
