Is it worth to go for last Fighters Guild quest at VR14 - 16? (Prismaitc weapon, possible spoilers)

Hey, I've seen many people in the game with Prismatic weapons vr12, vr14 etc. Meaning that they finished the quest at this rank, they really prize this weapon so how is it really?
Is it any useful? I've seen the weapon with 1000 enchantment bonus againts daedra and undead, IIRC it was VR14.

Thanks

I thought I had read on forums that's the prismatic weapons only scale up to vr12

I'm a little miffed there's no prismatic dagger. Been dagger since creation and vr4 now, like 60% crit unbuffed and I like it that way.

    Idk stats of others
Vr12 prismatic bow and destruction staff are 1060 damage, 880 damage to undead/deadra, +6% crit. It's epic and can be upgraded to legendary

Idk how you add pic within a 'spoiler tab'..

Is their no way Prismatic Weapons can be competitive with crafted, burning enchantment weapons in undead & Daedra PvE?

I had actually heard that vr12 prismatic weapons are some of best in game (main reason why I'm miffed there's no dagger -.-).

I'm only vr3 (almost 4) so I don't really know personally, just what I've read.

I don't think they'll be 'the best' but definitely not just trash

I finished the quest at VR14 and it only was a VR12 Prismatic Weapon...

Was it useful compared to vr14 weapons? Like, within ~50-75 damage points?

I've seen my guildm8s talking about this weapon and that it will be scaled up in the next big update.

I'm sure if the cap is vr16 they'll scale up to vr14, wishful thinking tho

    - Right now, it only scales up to VR 12.
    - Orgnum's Scales is not a good set bonus for most builds. If you want that set bonus you can craft a VR 14 weapon of the same set that has better stats.
    - The enchantment deals up to 980 damage to undead and deadra once every 5 seconds. That's 196 dps in the very best case (in practice, it will be less damage since even trash monsters have Armor and Spell Resistance now and resist part of that damage and it will trigger a bit less often than exactly once every 5 seconds). Against any enemy that is not undead or daedric, the enchantment does nothing.

-> The Akaviri style gives the weapon a unique look and the enchantment may be fun to use, but the VR 12 prismatic weapon is not a good choice for any type of gameplay (be it solo grinding, group PvE, trials, PvP) if you care about efficiency.

Yes, I always waited until my character was Veteran Rank 14 before completing the quest.
I'm not sure, though I doubt it, that they'll scale the Prismatic weapons up to VR 14 after the update.

I was only thinking so because they're vr12 and cap (for consoles anyways right now) is 14, 2 below. So I just assumed they might bring it up 2. But now that I think about it, I'm sure they won't bevause everyone who got theirs at vr12 will have been screwed over more or less.

I started on console so idk if vr12 was once the level cap on Pc or always it was vr14

I assumed as much; thank you for the post @GaldorP - hopefully Update 7 fixes itemisation in a way which we'll all enjoy and appreciate as Zeni has said several times already that this is their intention.

Yeh I don't know anyone that actually uses it at endgame. Pretty much a niche weapon and wouldn't be worth losing set bonuses over.

It's nice to have when you first hit vet rank, but at end game your weapons are normally a part of a set and benefit you a lot more.
