I'm currently leveling up my woodworking and came across a pretty quick and low risk place to steal staves to deconstruct.
Northpoint in Rivenspire, Mages guild merchant stand. Stand in the back and wait for the merchant to turn away sneak and steal the staves on the table. Log out and repeat.
