Rather Worrying Inconsistency in Menus

Hi,
I have been recruiting many guild members lately and my method is simple.
1. Stand in a busy building (bank, metalworking/clothing, keep, etc.) and memorise names of passers by.
2. Go: SOCIAL>GUILDS>[my guild]>ADD MEMBER[enter online ID]>REQUEST
3. Repeat for as long as I can be patient or there is traffic.
The problem is that my dexterity cycle becomes repetitive to a point (and fast)... and for some incalculable reason, once or more than once when I re-open a new sub-menu, typically the GUILDS one, the default option has changed - not often enough to expect it everytime mind, it is most often on ADD MEMBER as it was before but there are regular curveballs. I almost left my own guild just now. I'm usually a few presses into HISTORY or ROSTER and have to come back and sometimes on the menu list 2 before, I have entered GROUP and am almost inviting people to that.
No, it won't be a problem for many, and of course I can recruit slowly or "get over it" but is it necessary, intended?
It seems like a bug rather than anything else as there is little pattern to it.
