Question regarding Gear - Weapons - Sets

Hi Guys, i'm just v2 on my templar on console, y create a 5 pieces of set seducer, and 3 from magnus. I already like the set bonuses, but i have some question, the sets are the best armor, gear? or can you have drops that are better? (Supposing that we are speaking of same level v2 blue)

Right now every drop v2 that i can found not matter if its epic it worst because of the bonuses set of my current armor.

In the long term, the set is always the best armor for the game? or you have alternatives not using sets?

There are some sets that cannot be crafted. Those seem to be a little more powerful than the craftables.

You will be unlikely to do better at VR2. Once you hit VR12 to VR14, a lot more dropped sets show up that you can choose from. Most top notch builds use dropped sets or a combo of crafted + dropped. However, you can be effective in only crafted gear. You won't be #1 on the leaderboard or anything, but you can still beat all the dungeons in crafted gear.

The advantage of dropped sets is that some of them have jewelry, which allows you to have two 5-set bonuses. So for example, you could have:

5-piece Seducer (or Magnus) and 5-piece Warlock (drops at V1) or Magicka Furnace (drops from V2-V5).

And remember that even though set drops are usually green, they can all be improved to whatever you want. None of my vet toons wear anything below purple (jewelry excepted).

My Templar has 5 Warlock and 5 Hist Bark (because she's a tanky build) and my sorc has 5 Seducer and 5 Magicka Furnace (even though she's V11 now, the armor is still good enough and I'll update her when she gets to V12 and can wear the Worm Cult pieces I found)
