Text chat doesn't really work well in the console environment. That's why headsets exist.

Yeah I knew what you meant. But tbh a lot of people can't be bothered typing on a controller. But with that said Xbox smart glass app is a wonderful thing for that.

Alliance wide chat in pvp is greatly needed more than text chat in my opinion.

SmartGlass makes it as simple as sending a text. Wireless keyboard on the coffee table makes it even easier.

500 nerds are not getting into 'channel 1' to find the right group comp for the veteran daily. A guild chat box where someone could type 'VR14 heals looking for Vet daily' would be awesome.

I'd like to see trade chat. Nice, easy way to sell things outside of the guild stores.

Actually it would work perfect. I already have keyboard hooked up and ready.

The voices of angsty teens is bad enough, I don't want yet another game with a chat box that scrolls faster than even the flash could read, filled with spam and stupid comments.

Please just do what every other guild has done, open a chat on an app like line or kik.
It works great, keeps the game clean.

Of course, but I'm willing to bet most people don't have a keyboard hooked up ready to go on their console. I could be wrong though, depends how many of the PC folk migrated to the console version.

Well, it could be nice, but honestly you can just join a channel, and if Guild leaders think about it they can even tag the voice channels. Channel 1 for PvE exploration, Channel 2 for Dungeons, Channel 3 for Vet Dungeons, Channel 4 for Trials, Channel 5 for PvP. (and so on)

I get that everyone wants to get this text based stuff in there, cause its what you are used to when it comes to MMO's, but this is a Console, we got a great voip system in place, you get free headsets with Xbox, why not use it.

I would like a chat box but only for the reason to reach members that won't use voice channels and headsets
but i rather have everyone use the voice channels.

I'd rather have them working on improving the Group Finder, than implementing Text chat, no matter how easy it is with the Smart Glass app, you still have to get a 2nd device in to make it easy to type.

I can see this being an option for the smaller guilds, just curious how it works out with the big ones.

Line has room for 250 plus KIk I believe caps at 50.Line would be your best for trading guilds and KIk for small guilds of to organized PVP groups.

I found myself sitting at the daily quest giver desperately trying to get a group going. After sitting there for an hour listening to kids babble about nonsense I got frustrated and left. Really need a text box in this game.
