So why no trading posts here on the forums, where we can advertise what were looking for what were selling and then use the ingame mechanics to complete said trade hardky seems game breaking , yet weve a whole forum dedicated to modifying the game and potentially creating something akin to a cheat list and this is sanctioned by the developers.


Please explain it to me

1) Trading posts change weekly

Any method of trading outside of the game would need to take into account the fact that the location that is selling the item may no longer exist tomorrow.

2) trading systems external to a game allow for real world cash purchases and the laundering of real cash for in game gold.

3) Addons created do not give the ability to do anything the deleveloper does not want. They have control over the UI and how addons interact with the game.

I don't think he means in-game 'trading posts', I'm sure he means 'forum posts' trying to initiate trades, which of course aren't allowed.

It comes out of the PC version of the game, where you actually can use zone chat to trade. That won't work as well on the consoles, though, so you guys get left high and dry there.

By the time the trade is settled and the guy logs in, one of the players will have moved onto a new game anyway

Yeah console is really sol with the trading biz. If none of your guilds acquire a trader in at least a decent location, it makes it really difficult to get anything sold without text chat. Trying to sell in voice chat is like advertising in a flock of seagulls fighting over bread. Getting stuck in a guild that can't amount to much is even worse. Good luck trying to get into a top notch guild with prime locations. This is really a terrible way for selling on console. For pc it may work because players can opt for text chat when they don't get a trader for a week or two, but console players are really suffering from this mess. The system needs to be overhauled for console or Zos needs to make some serious changes. As it stands now, the market will now only cater to those that were lucky enough to get in the top guilds. The rest of the community will be left in the dust. I hope zeni wakes up to this mistake and comes up with a better solution to make things more fair and help our economy.

Why would you post on a trade forum buying or selling if you didn't play? Most players probably wouldn't use it honestly. Out of several friends I play with only 2 of us use this forum and another uses GameFaqs or something or other. Most just jump in Voip and sell it that way. Pretty easy.

I guess this game is more geared towards PC players which is a shame as I'm a console only player , but I would dwfo say I'm not a normal console player I can play games like teso forever and not touch other games

They have said the reason they do not have this is because it would cause moderation issues. I think basically they mean 'work'. Where trades did not work out, people backed out etc. it would be the forum mods that would get bombarded with the reports. Something they are simply not prepared to spend time on.

Have the forum time locked so it coincides with the weekly store reset let the game handle the actual trades

Sure beats 4 hours running to every guild store looking for a specific item

Subtle ... I still think it's a farce though,

It's following the Forum rules. It's just a loophole lol. ZOS will probably still attack those who do it, but shouldn't. They should encourage our creativity to make trades, we can't make add-ons. This is our trade add-on.
