Level 34 and already in Coldharbor, doing level 45+ quests

I went through all of the areas of the Ebonheart Pact and did the overwhelming majority of the quests in each area. Aside from these high level quests, how else can I level up? Sooner or later I am going to run out of quests and be forced to grind for xp.

You probably skipped a lot of things including dungeons, side quests, dolmens and bosses for that.

Without any boost I always end up in Coldharbour around 45. And you shouldn't worry about running out of quests for XP... until you reach the VR ranks. You could always go do some Cyrodiil (if you're into PvP) or go back to the previous zones for stuff you missed or skipped.

Or you could return to previous zones just to grind up some XP.

Are you just doing the main quests (by this I mean just doing what it takes to go to next region)? Or are you doing dolmens/delves/world bosses/side quests?

If you are 34 and all ready in coldharbour then you have not done all the content. Look up a map of each area and make sure you have completed every dungeon, world boss, and dolmen.

wut even when I just do the quests in each zone I somehow manage to be at least lvl 40-44 by the time I reach CH o.O

Yep, that's what I forgot. All I did was quests; no dungeons, and a miniscule amount of bosses and dolmen.

Also.. doesn't the quest to send you to Coldharbour start at around lvl40 with the main quest? Did you ask someone to teleport you there? did you complete all 3 of the main storylines? (Mage's Guild, Fighter's Guild, Main Quest)

Oddly enough, I have no trouble with these high level quests. The level doesn't bother me and I'm able to do the quests without help.

I hit VR1 in Coldharbor, but I got the achievements in each area before moving on to the next. You apparently ran through everything and missed a lot of stuff.

I haven't completed mages/fighters guild, in fact I've only done a few (like 2-3 quests) for each but still, if you did all the dolmens/delves/world bosses you would've been proper level. Idk about now (you could still get xp from last 2-3 regions maybe) but for future reference, each delve has a boss/skyshard/quests/achievement

There's definitely a lot skipped. I just levelled a toon up to VR1, it entered Cold Harbor at level 48. I completely skipped the Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild AND the Harborage \ main story line quests and still managed to be level 48 on entering Cold Harbor. No grinding involved, although I did find a group for all of the instanced group dungeons (this was kind of an experiment).

OP - you could get the Destinations Addon to see what was skipped, or look for dungeon groups and run those. Finding a group for the lower level dungeons (1-3 zones) might be hard until you hit VR1. In my experience it's easier to find dungeon groups if you're at the zone level (because other people want the dungeon for the skill point) or when you get to VR ranks (because then they're undaunted dailies). Other than that, grind it is.

Ah yes. This happened many months ago when players who were too terrible to solo content cried on the forums. Now we have content that can be soloed by people many levels below the required level.

Not to mention people soloing group dungeons.

Hope this new content in 1.7 is actually challenging.

You can check your achievments. Each zone has an acievment for completing the majority of the quests and will say like xx/50 quests complete.

I did 100% of the quests and hit VR1 on the first quest in Coldharbor, left Coldharbor VR2 (after the guild quests which I saved up)

Not at level 34, you didn't. The game won't even give you these quests until you meet the minimum level.

Definitely skipped a ton of stuff. I know for a fact that if you do all the quests, all public dungeons, all 17 group dungeons, both fighters and mages guild and the main quest to completion should land you at least halfway through VR1 and rank 9 in both fighters and mages guild. I'm talking about EP side here without starting Cadwells silver.

To Violynne, but the game did give me the quests. And it doesn't matter whether you believe me or not that I got the quests. I know what I missed and I will go back to do missed dungeons, dolmens, etc.

You missed a lot more than dungeons if you are that low. A friend and I duo quested together. We did roughly 90% of the quests and delves and public dungeons together.

I had more playtime however so I did all the group dungeons and he only did 3. My level going into CH was 46, his was 42.

You missed a LOT of quests.

It may cause you to have to grind, you can't get into silver before 45.

No player can get the "Messages Across Tamriel" quest that Vanus Galerion gives at level 34.
These are the prerequisites:

Complete To Walk on Far Shores or
Complete Council of the Five Companions and reach Level 45

Any player can however get the Hollow City/Army of Meridia quests from the Groundskeeper at any level, provided travel to a player in Coldharbour is used.

There's no way you did "the overwhelming majority" of quests - you missed a lot. Anyone exploring a zone, chasing the skyshards in delves, doing the public dungeons and even a few 4-man dungeons here an there will be over-leveled when they get to Coldharbour, not as severely under-leveled as you are. You'll typically be VR1 before you're even half-way through CH... even more so if you're an ESO+ member.

PS... only the mobs +/- 5 levels from your level will give you XP. Even if you just want to grind for XP, you'll have to go back.

It is totally possible....

I made it to the

Meridia/Bal confrontation

at 34. Then had to grind to 45 to get the main story mission to get to silver.

And yes only did the 4 quest lines (Mages Guild (lv26), Fighters Guild(lv26), Main Faction(lv34), Main Story up to 30 + few random others and World Bosses, ect...) To grind up went back and got all skyshards (18SP), world bosses and locations.

This toon is now Level 47 and almost finished with the Deshan (VR2) Cadwells Silver requirements.

Trying to see how far I can get in silver before hitting VR1 (still using lv 26 armor/38 weapons)

This is not my first toon thru this content....

You definitely skipped a tonne of things, probably got about 30 skill points.

You skipped too much of the game. Unless you love grinding your last ten VR you should go back and enjoy the content you skipped.

on an alt where I only do the main quests, FG MG mainmapquests and skyshards, I'm also that far ahead, but that means skip ALL side quests, so no, you did not do the majority of the quests, not by a long shot since then you would be overlvld instead of underlvld
