exp./loot explained pls

Hello,

Can someone explain how the exp./looting works in dungeons ?
So if I play with my friend who is currently lvl 32, the monsters in the dng spawn at lvl 32 also considering he's the groupsleader.
But I, who's a lvl 38, I can't seem to get exp./loot with these lvl 32 monster.

So, if possible; some extra information about this subject.

If you are more than 5 levels above the level of the monster, you won't get any loot or XP from it.

Depending on how you define "reversible"? No.

Go back and deal with enemies that are at your level and you'll be fine. If your friend levels up, then you should start getting XP again. Though your drops would still match his level.

No, it's not reversible. There is some solace to take in that your not getting your armor damaged either from the mobs.

If your more than 5 levels under, then you have to do a "significant" amount of damage to get credit/loot. Note, this issue does not exist in the VR Ranks, just the leveling ranks.

So, pay attention to the various player levels when doing group dungeons and make sure they are not 5 or more levels over or under the mobs. In your case, the easy solution would have been to have a L34 or L36 in the group and make them the group leader to scale the dungeon so everyone gets exp and loot.

By reversible, I mean it the other way around.
So if I don't get exp./loot from 5 levels under my level.
Then this is true the other way around ? from monsters 5 levels above my level ?

WHAAAAAAAAA? So you mean if I'm 5 levels higher than the mob I won't get my 2 gold pieces and a white decon item, maybe a green one... from a BOSS........ so disapointing.......

In case anyone missed that sarcasm above, the drops in this game are pretty much crap and have been since launch.

Yeah, but at least your gear doesn't degrade, so you're out nothing. Which wasn't true at launch.

No. You can still get drops and XP off enemies that are... well, the highest difference I remember was 26 levels over me. As I recall those did pay out with XP and drops. Though, it's been awhile.
