offline mode

Is it at all possible to play this game on console in offline mode? I have changed internet provider and won't be connected until the 20th. I'm assuming you can't, but thought it would be worth asking.

Nope, although that's not a bad idea since the game is so unfriendly to multi player (phasing, no text chat on console, etc...) ;p

No, you can not. ESO is an MMO, which is always online and ongoing. Offline mode don't work with MMOs for that reason.
Skyrim still rocks, hint, hint. :)

Hah, i was fully expecting the usual trolls to pop up. I understand the question itself was a rather self explanitory one, however, that's what the forums are here for.

In a much later update, it would be great to at least have the option to play in an offline environment - if not just to get away from some of the idiots playing the game. It would certainly put an end to the endless threads of people complaining about the bite areas being camped etc.

Seems i'll have batman to keep me occupied until the 20th then!

Unfortunately, you will. This is exactly the same as asking for WoW to be offline. Just... lol.

Offline for an MMO? Yeah that sounds possible

An offline mode would not be possible. That would require that all game data be stored client-side, which would get hacked shortly after. If there was an offline mode, you could have all resources to yourself with zero competition, have all the grind spots to yourself, give yourself god mode and get every set in the game and millions of AP. Not going to happen.

I would like it if the game received an offline version before ZOS pulls the plug and turns off the servers someday in the future. It would be sad to see it disappear forever. But for now it's utterly impossible - not just because it would be a massive waste of resources, but also because there can be no offline "mode". It would simply be two different games and you could never bring your offline character online.
