Best weapon for Templar alt?

I'm gonna make a DC Alt and I'm thinking about being a Breton Templar. I'm using 2H and 1H/S on my current Dragonknight so looking for something different to use.
What are your guys suggestions for weapons for bar 1 and 2 (eventually)?
Would dual staffs be a good idea or not? I'm a complete noob to the Templar class

Thanks!

Staves are great if you are a Magicka based class. Otherwise you could go for dual wield/2H for dps, or 1H/S if you want to tank with it.

Do you like melee builds? Templar has the best battlemage feel out of all the classes in my opinion. I always level a hybrid ranged/melee build but as full magicka as to be able to go directly into healing as needed. I made a video of the early process. Maybe its helpful to you.

I'm kind of a small deal!

There is no "best weapon" if you want to seriously heal, make one of them a resto staff, then decide what to want to do besides heal. I use a 1 hand and shield for more defense. Really depends what you want to do. Main heal/dps(destro staff or melee?) , main heal/off tank, main tank/off heals & buff....need more info on what YOU want to do with your character.

Depends on your build whether its magicka or stamina.
It also depends on your class.

I want to do magicka based DPS and group healing, basically to be able to solo things as well as heal and help out members in a group. I've started levelling destruction staff atm and I might put resto on my 2nd bar at level 15.

Are there any more "must have" skills except from puncturing sweeps and reflective light?
    Thanks for your help

Breath of Life. It'll be your oh *** heal. Resto staff has great heals and passives for templars. If you want to be "the healer" a resto staff is a must have imo.
