Remove critters or make them more passive

I like the idea of having critters in the game but I think it's rediculous that we are able to accidentally target them in combat and the fact that they can make it so we can't stealth. I often find that I am crouched and ready to fight and suddenly I get the open eyeball and am detected by a mudcrab or something else that isn't even a real mob. I have tried to use stealth attacks when this happens and I never get the stealth attack crit. Also trying to kill mobs and hitting 3 lizards or rats in the process while using up my resources is just bad. They need to either remove them from the game or make them non targetable and take away their seeing ability so it doesn't screw up our stealth. It's nearly impossible to use stealth in this game as is and these critters just make it worse.

    "ridiculous"...please continue.

umm. really? thats your gripe in the game? hmm to each his own i guess. even as playing with BOW for 50 levels ive maybe only run into hitting critters a handful of times and it certainly didnt affect me living or dying.
    Cant speak for stealth though.

Stealth is my main problem, I don't see why a critter should break my stealth.

Nah, I like using the critters to move quickly through delves with ambush :)

Meh. No one accidentally landed his precious Meteor on a 5 HP rat instead of dungeon boss, really?

    (Poor rat, to be honest...)
    ;)

    Rat had it coming.

Maybe make them run away from combat? I don't know a lot of rats (not the giant ones that actually fight you) that like to stick around people or loud noises, combat has both of those things.

Pretty much reminds me of this:

    Accidentally target?

If a mob is glowing red, it's a target. Over time, many mobs turn yellow, and can't be accidentally targeted.

But this may be due to the fact I have the game's option to prevent hitting safe targets turned on.

I flipped this switch when a freaking guard came after me when I was in "combat" with a game quest asking me to spare and the idiot got too close. Can't win against a guard at level 12.

Other than this, be mindful where the crosshairs are.

As for the passive's blowing stealth, hate to say this, but creatures are part of the world. I still remember a deer in Skyrim busting me for stealing.

I don't think they are much of a problem, they drop small game and other little things to help with fishing! Just be more careful trying to lock-on during battle lol.

My problem isn't with critters, it's with mobs that are significantly lower level than you. I just love it when I'm VR14 and walk through an area and a pack of level 10 Skeevers are trying to break their necks to chase after and kill me when they don't stand a chance in hell of even taking .001% of my health.

The way SWG handled this is that once you were a significantly higher level than the mobs in the area, the aura around them was yellow (instead of red) and they were docile, and would only attack you if you attacked them. Getting chased to the ends of Nirn by pathetic little mobs is quite annoying.

Idk if you've played on the ps4 but trying to line up those crosshairs is hard enough sometimes, especially when moving and dodging, but sometimes I am targeting the mob, they are bright red and my snipe will hit a critter.

I'll admit the break in stealth and mistarget has happened to me before too. But, it's one of the things that makes the game a little challenging! Keep the critters! It makes the world more immersive!

    +1

There should be priority targeting and real enemies should take precedence over critters.

If there were no critters then how would I get my livestock mass murderer achievement. You bet that once those livestock see me coming they go the opposite way instead of in my crosshair!
