Should there Be an Option to Transfer a Character to Another Account? (With Restrictions of Course)

DrEagleTalon
So Like other MMO's transferring a Character is typically allowed with some restrictions. Of course there needs to be a way to prevent selling of characters but there needs to be the option for people like me who at one time shared an account with a Spouse/Sibling/Roommate/Etc awaiting the opportunity to purchase the Game themselves. Now If ZOS understood that in not allowing transfers they lose money. How you ask? Because if Person X shares with Person Y and Gets a Character to V14 and Has the Money to buy the Game themselves, (And possibly make crown purchases and ESO Plus Membership, etc.) will decide to not buy it because they do not want to completely start over and lose that character. Now if the option was Available not only would they get another purchase but they could make a Fee for the transfer. Obviously there would need to restrictions in place to keep from selling of characters, although it would be impossible to stop it completely just as it is impossible to stop the selling of accounts. Help me let ZOS know I am not alone in this and that it would be beneficial to them to allow this!

Sharing an account is against the TOS in the first place. You have no reasonable expectation of Zenimax to move a character that you played on a shared account to your own account.
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

I understand it is against the TOS, I am saying that this should change. There are a multitude of players who have been in the same situation as I have. In my case I have my own account that I let my brother and wife use since we live together so they can play as well. I bought him and my wife their own account that they do not use because they do not want to lose their Mains. Like in WoW and other MMO's there needs to be an option, it is a legitimate problem for some people and there should be a solution.

[By allowing only a single transfer per account and showing the legitimate relationship between the two people involved.]

I used to play an emulator of original everquest where they were able to ban people involved in RMT. If a group of volunteers can do it...

But I don't really care much either way. The transfer for me would be personal use, not to sell.

Thats what they all say, you know. You can say it. But your real intentions are only known to you. I am not saying you will sell it. But thats what a company would think.

^ I agree. And they would be justified in thinking so.

so if someone steals my password, then transfers my toon to their account, and then i re-secure my account, I'm SOL because of that no this should not be an option, besides you only need one account.

Limit the amount of transfers an acount can do. Possibly as low as 1-2.

They are losing money on this as I know when I get a second console/account I'll want to transfer one of my characters to it. If I'm not able to then I likely won't be purchasing a second copy of the game or any of the crown store items that I would be buying again on the second account, and they won't be getting whatever fee it would be for transfering.

I certainly don't want to encourage the sale of characters, but I do want to get a second account eventually without losing progress that was made on either my or my wife's characters.
