King Richard's Stamina Sorcerer, why?

Hey guys,

this is the build:

my question is: he is saying its "so good etc"., but what is the reason for running this as sorc? the only sorc skill he is using is boundless storm, so i dont see why this build is as a sorcerer superior as it would be as a nightblade or anything else?

I dont mean this as a "flame". by no means, im a new player on ps4 and king richard is without a doubt one of the best players in this game, im just asking because im also playing stamina sorc. Am I missing anything here, is boundless storm so strong?

I didnt play due to the console release, but i followed the forums/youtube and I think you can say, that KR and Sypher are at least "very good players". But this is my opinon.

Most builds on youtube are things thrown together while they stream so they can get views off the build video. The build here really isn't original he just added a classless approach to it. Kosmoko and Lemur have been using exact same sets but on NB. Same goes for other Youtubers, that's not to say that all their builds are bad, but I reccomend looking at what they're doing then twisting the build to fit your play style.

Well, i personally never copy a build, is build my own one and how i like to play (like I did always in Guild Wars 1). This one is just interesting, because I dont get the point for the sorcerer. So I gues I hadnt missed anything here and it just - yeah - like a copy?

Not too many of his builds are original anyway. He often borrows builds from other players and tweaks them slightly. Sometimes not even giving them credit. I know at least one instance where I personally witnessed this happen. Being popular or well known doesn't make you the best either.

Yup. Plenty of well no players die quickly in duels and throw a tantrum afterwards. I've had builds stolen before, it really sucks.

That's a tribute to how good stamina builds have become. It has nothing to do with being a sorc.

Every other class has more to add to a stamina build than sorc.

Stam sorc plays really fast and fun, lightning form, bolt escape, charges. You can fit in other sorc skills to a stamina build to make it more sorcy, but as people have said other classes have more to add to stamina builds right now.

King Richard does playtest his builds before showcasing them. Plus he shows them in action.

To answer the OP question...yes this build, like most stamina builds work just as well with any other class. Let's face it, Stamina builds tend to rely heavily on gear, weapon skills, and misc skills like Caltrops and Evil Hunter. These are availble to all classes and most of the Stamina builds ive seen "usually" use only 2-3 class skills out of 10 slots.

I don't presume to answer for KR, but i would guess that the reason he is running a Stamina sorc now is becuase he finally got Vigor with his sorc. Plus to show folks that Sorcs can pull off Sta builds effectively.


EDIT: to be clear, yes All 3 other classes would perform better than sorc with the same setup.

Personally I've enjoyed my Stam sorc more than ANY other class/build and I have all 4 leveled up(twice..). Sure other classes "do it better", since stam sorcs are gimped now, but the high mobility makes it a blast to play, imo. This will no longer be the case when they "fix" bolt escape though..

I run a stamina sorcerer in PVP when I am not playing on my Templar. Even though other builds are much stronger I enjoy the play style it offers. I only use boundless storm and critical surge as sorcerer skills. I have high stamina regen and use boundless storm to keep movement speed high while rotating critical rush and magnum shot. I started using the critical rush magnum shot combo after seeing a video by Jack (Templar). Are magicka Sorcerers better? Of course.

is it clear how long the "cost increase" on be will stay after u used it once ? so, after 4 sec, can u use it again without cost increase?

Don't listen to the haters. King Richard is the best player I've seen in ESO. That's not to say there are not better players out there. Just from what I've seen. He doesn't copy anyones build. If he obtains an idea. He will give them credit for it. He's done so in all his video's.

There are a total of 5 abilities on each bar. Just because one person has the same ability doesn't mean it's the same build.

To my knowledge it would work the same, except the cost % increase stacks now with each use within 4 secs. After those 4 secs the cost should reset back to normal.

The problem is stam sorcs could squeeze out 2 bolts during that period before(3 with a followup pot), but after the patch that will no longer be the case. If we could hold our own like a DK(or even a temp) then it wouldn't be a big issue, but that's just not possible for stam sorc atm(especially if you don't have vigor..).

I'm not saying it's all doom and gloom, but it will definitely hurt the build and so far we are receiving nothing to push us to where we need to be competitively.

King Richard is indeed a top tier player. I think the idea that he is somehow "copying" someone's build is absurd. The game isn't that complicated and the choices for a stam sorc are even less complicated.

I put my build out to help other sorcs who want to run stamina and like all my builds it will grow and change over time. You trying to say i put my build together to get views is outrageous i spend time trying to make quality builds and videos to help people out. I will continue to do so. My stam sorc has beaten your stam DK and Lemurs Stam NB that doesn sound like a Build thats slapped together on stream unless thats all it takes to beat you guys. I never said it was better then my magick build and i dont need any reason to play it other then enjoyment. Only reason my stam sorc isnt my primary build is because i have a stam NB and PVP is extremly zergy and my stam sorc build isnt the best for mobility.

When i make my builds i dont compare it to other builds This is a good stam sorc and yes it pales in comparison to other classes that use stam like NB and DK but as a stamina sorrc My stam sorc is amazing. I dont have much to work with but it will grow over time. Also i dont need a reason to be stam sorc other then enjoyment of the game im playing and helping others enjoy it aswell. Alot of sorcs dont want to be magick so i gave them a template for stam. Thats why i youtube and twitch To help players further enjoy a game. I didnt have a person like me to help me grow in eso when i was playing and that sucks sometimes learning everything on your own. So i enjoy helping people with my knowledge.

Yes, you beat me probably three/four times out of the many times I beat you on your stam sorc. Lemur lives in Hawaii with 400 ping, not impressed you beat him with his own sets when his ping is 4x worse than yours. Everytime you lose a duel you almost refuse to say gf and always have some excuse or must make a remark like "X Ability is OP" "I lagged" etc. You're not the only one who does that. My take on duels is if you lose, just accept it. You are a good player but that does not make you a good theorycrafter. Almost all the "Popular kids" on youtube are trash theorycrafters. Builds=Views. I know you are a good player because i've dueled people using "your" builds and they lose quickly. Most ESO YT channels WILL play the builds for a long time, but they refuse to come up with something original. I'm not the arbiter of originality by any means, but I can tell when something you or others came up with is either a typcial meta and you were just the first ones to mushroom stamp your name on it or you jacked it off real theorycrafters. Not gonna come back to this thread now and read replies, not looking to pick a fight, I will just let you ponder on what I said.

Stamina builds right now are pretty much
Nightblade>templar>dk>sorc

Personally never understand why people bring up DKs when talking about stamina builds. Stamina dks were pretty amazing in 1.5 and while they do decently like all stamina builds they are actually weaker then 1.5. Templar and nb blow both sorc and dk stam versions away

My how to pvp like a baws series creates more views and subs then my builds. So what your saying is just hate. You are on a stamina sorcerer forum post talking about me when I have you on my friendslist. Well had. I'm gonna keep doing what I do that's enjoying my life my wife and kids and gaming. I will also continue to YouTube and twitch for everyone who supports me and if you don't like it keep hating because I don't see you!!

First off king richard, you never beat my stam nb on your stam sorc, and i unslotted fear to fight you, and it just didn't end because i was being fair you didn't have a good CC. Like you are cool sometimes, but you think you are better than you really are. You beat me on your nb after straight up copying me, I'm sure if i had as many CP as you and decent ping i would win. You are not as good as you think you are, and need to stop being a cocky *** because many people don't respect you for that.

I twitch I YouTube and you can reach me in game if its not positive keep me out of it in the future a simple message on my YouTube would have answered your questions without leaving room for haters and no lifers to talk crapp about me. I just want to keep everything I'm doing positive. Since I have gained popularity with twitch and YouTube jealousy and hate comes with it. I watched sphere grow and deal with this exact same issue.

First off king richard, you never beat my stam nb on your stam sorc, and i unslotted fear to fight you, and it just didn't end because i was being fair you didn't have a good CC. Like you are cool sometimes, but you think you are better than you really are. You beat me on your nb after straight up copying me, I'm sure if i had as many CP as you and decent ping i would win. You are not as good as you think you are, and need to stop being a cocky *** because many people don't respect you for that.

I put my build out to help other sorcs who want to run stamina and like all my builds it will grow and change over time. You trying to say i put my build together to get views is outrageous i spend time trying to make quality builds and videos to help people out. I will continue to do so. My stam sorc has beaten your stam DK and Lemurs Stam NB that doesn sound like a Build thats slapped together on stream unless thats all it takes to beat you guys. Yes, you beat me probably three/four times out of the many times I beat you on your stam sorc. Lemur lives in Hawaii with 400 ping, not impressed you beat him with his own sets when his ping is 4x worse than yours. Everytime you lose a duel you almost refuse to say gf and always have some excuse or must make a remark like "X Ability is OP" "I lagged" etc. You're not the only one who does that. My take on duels is if you lose, just accept it. You are a good player but that does not make you a good theorycrafter. Almost all the "Popular kids" on youtube are trash theorycrafters. Builds=Views. I know you are a good player because i've dueled people using "your" builds and they lose quickly. Most ESO YT channels WILL play the builds for a long time, but they refuse to come up with something original. I'm not the arbiter of originality by any means, but I can tell when something you or others came up with is either a typcial meta and you were just the first ones to mushroom stamp your name on it or you jacked it off real theorycrafters. Not gonna come back to this thread now and read replies, not looking to pick a fight, I will just let you ponder on what I said.

My how to pvp like a baws series creates more views and subs then my builds. So what your saying is just hate. You are on a stamina sorcerer forum post talking about me when I have you on my friendslist. Well had. I'm gonna keep doing what I do that's enjoying my life my wife and kids and gaming. I am not cocky im confident. This is a post from someone asking a question about my stam sorc and somehow it has drawn attention from haters. Lemur and tribes you guys know me see me at duels see me in TS see me in Guild chat and say nothing to me yet decide to come here to flame. This isnt about who won a 1v1 i could care less about that. If i cared anything about 1v1's i would post the times that i kill you and tribes in duels. Where all this animosity is coming from is beyond me. Like i told tribes im gona continue what i do and if you dont like it o well if you have something to get off your chest message me in game ask me to join a Teamspeak room or join my twitch stream. This post is turning into something real childish and i dont want to be apart of it enjoy your game time.
