Ring of Mara not working

Today I was going to grind for 2 hours with my friend, we drank the XP boost, grouped together and put our Rings of Mara on.
We soon realized we were not getting any 10% bonus from that. We switched characters, tried the same, still not working.
I'm asking here because the last 6 emails I got from the customer support were exactly the same automatically generated emails (they suggested me to put an exploiter on ignore list instead of doing something about it...) Did anybody experience the same issue?

Got the ring with my wife, but we never saw anything from it other than the nifty animation of getting married in-game.

Well, that and it takes up a ring slot.

You need to be playing on the exact characters where you did the pledge of Mara, else it doesn't work. It's tied to the characters, not the account.

With that I actually meant we took the same characters that got "married"!

Me and a friend are having the same issue on PS4. We're observing no difference between XP gain with or without the ring or even running on our own.

Seemed to be working when i last grinded a character a couple weeks ago, as long as you are both wearing it, together amd grinding within the vicinity of eachother, it should work.

Question: Are you both below lvl 50 or are you both vets?

I ask this because the rings used to not work once you reached vet ranks. No idea if this is still the case. It hasn't been mentioned here so I dunno if ZOS has made it work in vet ranks or not.

We were both on vet characters actually. Still, we bought something with money that was supposed to be account-shared..

Level doesn't matter any longer. When they replaced VET XP with normal XP the rings started working for vet level toons as well. The last time I used mine, a couple months ago, they worked fine. Can't test them for you now though as the two people I got my mara on with have stopped playing.

Actually found out the rings should work with the "married" characters only. Still don't know why they actually don't

What would be cool is if ZOS wasn't so..I don't want to use the word lazy as they aren't lazy, but insert whatever word you want, and they actually put in a character buff showing that you are receiving the 10% bonus just like say Lycanthropy, would that really take the devs more than a weekend to implement? Sad when something so easy to fix is just left unfinished and broken, charging people for something 90% can't even really tell is working.

Can confirm that Ring of Mara worked just fine for myself and a friend not too long ago. With XP pot, ESO+ and Ring of Mara the percent of extra XP gain was on par. We even tested every way possible to make sure each of the three buffs were stacking.

Could be an issue with your particular characters or account.
