Have you tried standing outside of the dungeon you want to do and using area chat to form groups? That right there is the "social" aspect you are looking for.

If ESO had the same PVP rules as EVE Online... I would kill everyone doing that, and I am 100% carebear....
"Do you wanna do a dungeon" x 100???? ... yeah how about NO

You can always leave area chat so that you don't hear all that though. When you change to group or guild chat you can still hear area chat. You need to press square (on PS4) to actually leave area chat.

I can't agree more with the op. Dev should leave those options as optional and set them off by default if they want. But the gamer should be the one who decide.

So how do you communicate with people outside of groups and guilds?

I only notice when I'm in area chat when someone is either blasting music through their mic or its of that poor quality you can hear the noise from the tv when they make enchantments. At which point I leave immediately. I have yet to use my mic in area chat or via the very slow painfully non existing looking for group tool with a positive note.

Text chat needs to be implemented otherwise ps4 will become a ghost town.

no problem with the group finder ever with me. EVER. since launch (PC), my wait for the group finder has not been any worse than other games I have played.

Try joining a guild. Want to play with other players? Join a guild that doesnt suck. Find players around your level and go rock it out.

All your problems seem to be able to fix with a little effort on your part!

He's right. I cant imagine how you haven't been inundated with guild invites. If not walk into the blacksmith shop and say you are looking for a guild. Prob solved.

I honestly think some people want no text thing to be a huge problem when its not. Voice chat is quicker and people are actually pretty nice.

Needs text chat. I usually play late at night and i don't want the whole house listening to me talk on mic.

Use emotes. Do you want to group?

    PS.

What kind of team player are you going to be without voice comms in a fast paced dungeon?

typing'. 'Hey guys look out behind you!'. Press enter, send, lag, message posted minutes too late, your group is really happy.

There's all kinds of tactical emotes that are faster than a keyboard anyway.

    1) Join a guild, there are guild recruitment forums and tons of guilds that are thirsty for new players.
    2) If you're DPS, you're going to spend longer in the queue because not many people play the support roles (tank, healer). As a tank, my queue times are like 15 minutes tops.
    3) At the lower levels, no one knows what they are doing with the dungeon finder. They don't join the voice chat, they don't know they can zoom out on their map to teleport into the dungeons, they don't know they can select a players name and teleport to them, etc. I've found that's gotten better as I've moved up in levels. Sometimes you just have to PSN message (or Xbox whatever) the other players if they don't join the voice chat.

Be proactive, and maybe level up using a support role spec so you'll be more in demand. DPS is a dime a thousand.
