I've ran around Stormhaven for hours trying to find a quest to complete this friggin' Shinji's Scarp (Help the Murtag Clan stop the Ironhand ogres). I cannot find anything to pick up a quest. The Ogres are still in the area so it hasn't phased. I've relogged (even had an entire night of being off the game) and no one pops up. No one is in the Officer's Quarters (the general) for me to pick up any quests. I've even ran to every quest giver using http://www.uesp.net/ and no one is offering quests.

Does anyone know where the hell I need to go to finish this mission? The only quest I'm not 100% sure I did is rescue someone from a dream but the person who gives the quest (Abbot Durak) has nothing for me. I cannot get to the gold missions because of this single quest line. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yeah I think you have to go inside and watch a short skit or talk to the alter or something...then you go back to where u are and dude is in.a hut on the south side to give you the quest...think u even get a quest that takes you from the Abby to the dudes hut

I assume you've done the following quests:
Pursuing the Shard: Head to Wayrest to inform High King Emeric of the theft from the Abbey.
The Signet Ring: (Required for Cadwell's Almanac) Help resolve the situation between Count Hosni at-Tura and his father.
Evidence Against Adima: (Required for Cadwell's Almanac) Help Lady Sirali at-Tura collect enough incriminating evidence to exonerate her son.
Saving Hosni: (Required for Cadwell's Almanac) Take another trip into the Dreamstride at the at-Tura Estate.

Have you completed the following quests?

The Return of the Dream Shard: Return the stolen Dream Shard to Pariah Abbey.
Another Omen: Warn High King Emeric of the emergent threat in Gavaudon.
General Godrun's Orders: Help the Murtag Clan reclaim Shinji's Scarp.
Ending the Ogre Threat: (Required for Cadwell's Almanac) Stop the Ironhand ogres from using a mountain cavern to attack Shinji's Scarp.
Godrun's Dream: (Required for Cadwell's Almanac) Rescue the general from the realm of nightmares.

The General or Abbot isn't neccessarily the person to use to pick up the quest. There is a lieutenant and a sargeant involved from memory with minor quests feeding into the main quest line.

I see . Obviously you missed the bit where the Abbot said that the Midnight Union took the shard Emeric asked you to go to the At-tura Estate to investigate the leader of the Midnight Union . It happens.
