You say you are in the GMT tiomezone, but are you on the US, or EU megaserver?
I only ask because I am on the US megaserver, but I mostly play late at night...so, I end up playing with quite a few Brits, Scots, and Paddys....and like most of them much more than I do my 'Murican brothers and sisters. (lol)
