Steal Red Meat for Provisioning

So the question is does anyone know of a reliable spot to get red meat? I see pork, venison, fish, and even rabbit hanging from racks and sitting on counters, but no red meat. Normally I would justify go farm it, but it doesn't seem to drop much anymore in these veteran areas. I killed like 30 mammoths in the rift and got one piece and that was it. So I prefer to just steal if I can, preferably on the AD or EP factions since I've got those all inlocked. Any tips or tricks for this one?

The AD starter island (it's early, my brain isn't working well enough to remember the name). The Alits give red meat.

It drops for my Vet characters.

Ransack warehouses and ships and you will find plenty of provisioning ingredients including Red Meat. You may even find some areas that are NPC deficient meaning you don't even have to sneak.

Ya I can't get it to drop for anything. Was hoping more for a spot where it spawned on a rack or table so any time I went by it I could snag it. That's what I was doing for my vet 1 food with fish cheese and grapes, but the vet 5 food I can make takes red meat. Guess I'll ha e to farm it or look for a new recipe

I see it as a "World Item" where you see the item on a table. So, look on dining room tables that have foods laid out.

However I personally sell a 100 stack of Red Meat each week in the Guild Stores, so have you shopped in those to see if anyone is selling the provisioning ingredients. The markets should be chock full of provisioning ingredients as every one is doing writs for the Ambrosia Recipes. Every Writ gives 3 to 5 10/20 stacks of Ingredients. Hireling emails are also a great source of Ingredients.

Speaking of those, Provisioning Writs are a great source of ingredients. I have 6 characters doing these, and I am selling 10 to 20 100 stacks each week of excess Ingredients from the writs. It can take a while to build up a larder, but my Mule has a 200 stack of every ingredient, and my Bank as a partial stack of every ingredient and they almost all came from Writ rewards.

Well, a bunch came from Legerdemain Leveling.

Guessing you are on pc, I'm on console and the guild store, while there, suck. Not very well established. It's cool I think my better bet is just keeping my eyes out for a recipe with mats I snag off of tables in elden root

Just wait until you get to the next zone. The first town you come to is just packed with containers in warehouses and you can loot prov ingredients until you fill up 7 Mules worth of bag space.

Only problem is the city needs to be saved, so looting before you do that is kind of challenging.

Also, there are Grocers in the game, one is in Elden Root near the Wayshrine. Their ingredients are not cheap, but you can buy them there. I think there are two grocers in the next zone you are coming too that sell them cheap, but that might have been fixed. Plus, they are on the far end of Malabal Tor so it will be a while before you get there.

I remember a guild trader in wayrest where you can steal a lot of meat. Don't really remember if it's red meat.
    Give it a try.

Grocers don't sell red meat, all of the cities have white meat, fish, game, and small game. But no red meat that's quickly accessible. Just RNG on the barrels.

Have you checked all the grocers? From what I understand different grocers sell different things. I have not shopped the grocers in a long time, but I could find just about any provisioning ingredient with them, other than the Purples. But I had to find the Grocers who had it. In fact, there were a number of things that could only come from grocers like Golden Malt or Imperial Flour under the old system.

The topic is about where to steal it reliably in town.

Ya I think when they switched to the new system they made all the grocers have the same stuff, rather irritating. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Grocers

Are you sure? Did you read the wiki carefully? Have you been to RedFur? :)

I just put a 100 stack of Red Meat up for sale in a Guild Store. I was thinking about you when I did it. Too bad your not on the NA PC platform....
