Stained gear after PvP battles

lucian_banneb18_ESO
I just noticed that after some PvP action in Cyrodiil, I had all my gear stained and sprayed with blood.
When I exited the Campaign, all color went back to normal.
A very cool effect I might add - I'm surprised of not hearing about this until now.
Is this from launch, or was it added recently?
It should be more advertised and it should extent also to weapons and shields.

Note: My usual gear paint is White & Gold (with a yellow tabard).

It looks like the effect that you get when a werewolf or templar uses your dead body to heal himself. It has been there since launch, but the duration how long it is applied to you changed a few times.

When you notice this effect the next time, you could unequip your armor and have a look on your character's body.
The Repentance effect would be seen as large black strips I think, idk how the WW devour effect looks or wether it's the same.

If it's only from WW or Repentance, it's meh...
It should be applied after a certain number of PvP kills.
    Otherwise it looks bada$$! :)

Whenever you feed on an enemy as a vampire the blood runs down your armor. Think the visual effect only sticks around for like 30 seconds, but for those 30 seconds (or whatever the duration is) you look pretty vicious.
