Horses and training questions

Hello everyone,

Bought a pack for the game with which came a horse.

So I tried training.

I noticed though that the horse can run practically forever even after running out of stamina (at first it's burning the stamina bar, and then when that's over it keeps up the same speed till I stop) . I assume this is some kind of bug.
If not, what's the point of the stamina upgrade?

Purchased one carry capacity upgrade. What's the point of this? I bought earlier a couple of backpacks from the merchant so my carry capacity is up and over 80. Horse's 60. Should the two combine together somehow?

Thanks for the answers in advance.

No ist not a bug, ist intended to work like this.
The Stamina is just important in PVP, when you have 0 Stamina while riding, you gte knocked off the horse upon the next dmg you take. You cant brake free this knock off and you are stuned for 3secs.

The max inventory ingame without horse = 120
    + 60 from horse = 170

It's not a bug, if your hit with anything at all when your sprinting with no horse stamina they'll you'll fall off and have to go through the animation of falling off while still taking dmg. Important in pvp, can cause you to die in pve if you run through group of mobs with ranged attacks.

Your backpack and the horses stack(just a direct increase in space)

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

    Aha, gotcha.

A bit more on that carry capacity upgrade. Investing 1 point in carry capacity gives me how much extra space in the inventory again?

So I can purchase backpacks up to 120. And the horse's should add to it?
Since day 1 I own a horse, so I have no clue what's the starting inventory space. But it does not seem to add up. (though I noticed I get +1 +2 +3 extra room to my inventory over 80)

Max backpack space is 110 + 60 from horse. Your Riding skill starts at 0, you need to train at the stablemaster every day to increase speed, stamina or carrying capacity. One training adds one inventory space.

Here, explained several ways and with an example. Hope it helps.

For each horse carry capacity upgrade you purchase you will receive 1 additional backpack space, up to a maximum of +60 backpack space (plus what you can already carry in your backpack including backpack upgrades).

Example: A character with stock backpack has 60 inventory space. That character buys 1 upgrade from the backpack merchant, then has 70 inventory space. The character buys a horse, then 1 horse carry capacity upgrade. The character now has 71 inventory space. The character waits 20 hours, then buys another horse carry capacity upgrade, increasing total backpack space to 72.

    Default backpack space = 60
    Each backpack upgrade = +10 (max +60)
Each horse carry upgrade =+1 (max +60)

Each character must upgrade their horse skills seperately.

Exactly this info I was missing! :)

    Thanks a lot.

Think of stamina as the horse's 'hitpoints'. Being struck will remove stamina from your mount. You'll only be knocked off if there is not enough stamina remaining (the horse 'hitpoints' are 0).

Stamina isn't a great investment if you are primarily PvE. If you PvP though, it can help buy you time. There is also a passive bonus in the Champion system (under the Tower, iirc?) that will enable your mount to run without consuming stamina at all. This saves all of its stamina for absorbing strikes.
