Not the typical my guild bank got robbed thread

So I'm in a small guild with my wife and a couple friends I know from past games. Long story short the guild was started by a friend that quit playing about six months ago. He lives in Australia and hasn't been on for quite sometime. But I left him as an officer because he did start the guild but gave leadership to me when
he quit.

So I log in yesterday to see the guild bank has been all most emptied by him, so I message him on facebook asking whats going on. He tells me his account has been hacked because he hasn't been on. I've know the guy for quite sometime over the internet obviously and I highly doubt he would do something like this.

So if his account was hacked is there anything that can be done? Or am I out of luck, I did demote him until I figure whats going on but someone logged it in today and left the guild.

If anything of importance was taken you can request them be returned but no guarantees. Beyond that nothing more to do since the account's actual owner quit.

According to the TOS you are pretty much responsible for your account and the activity that takes place on it, even if someone used the account without your permission. So, while your guild mate may not have done this, he is responsible for what happened. However, if the account was hacked, Customer Service may help you to recover the items. You will have to contact them. There should be a paper trail of sorts showing who took out what at what time that CS can use to determine if they can help you.

No guarantees, but worth a phone call at least.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

so us telling you that if someone has bank withdrawal privileges its not stealing from the bank is not good enough for you ?
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

The player with the hacked/compromised account needs to open a support ticket. It can't be done on the forums, and you can't do it on his behalf. Part of sorting out these issues in the past has included Zeni restoring lost items and gold related to the hack, but I don't know about guild banks. He'll specifically need to ask. The longer he waits, the less likely you will be made whole.

No not really because you have no say so in the matter. I was asking opinions :) So someone that has a hacked account that withdrawals isn't stealing? and you post and the guy that just says cry is trolling . Just don't reply if you have nothing constructive to say ok?

I do not, so I would say he lies and either cleared it himself or passed over/sold his account to somebody who did.
Anyway, so far only people who highly doubted other people would dupe them were duped, because the rest would not play along.

Agreed, he probably took it all himself and this is just some lame excuse. :/

Opinion is remove people's privileges when they haven't been online after a certain period, say around 3-4 weeks. Doesn't take a second to reinstate them if they come back and ask for it.

I know it's a big late for yourself OP, but some handy opinions for other small guild masters or officers with stewardship.
