It was a description not an actual mechanic. All mounts in the game go by the same stats and share the same riding lessons your character has gotten. What you DID get though was another mount unlocked :)

Lol they didn't change the horse descriptions with the horse overhaul? That's excellent.

That is probably just an artifact of how horses worked at launch. At launch, you could only train an individual horse 50 times, and each horse had its own stats.

For example, my initial Imperial horse started at 0/0/0, and I trained it to have a 50 carrying capacity. At that point, I could no longer advance the horse.

I also bought a 40k fast horse, that started with 10 speed. I trained that 50 times to have 60 speed and I used that horse for PvP. If I had used a lesser horse, the max would have been 50 without the initial 10 points.

Then, they changed how horses work so that it is character riding skill that applied to all horses. Now, you can get all 3 stats up to 60 and the horses are just skins that provide no stats.

tldr, you just wasted your money.

Fortunately I researched into this before I bought my first horse because you know...never trust games and their descriptions. Bought the 10k horse and never looked back after finding out they are all the same and only serve as asthetics. It always helps to look into things if they seem fishy or untrusting. sorry OP.

I think it starts with more points but you dont end up with more. Basically the extra gold saves you 10 days of training. In your case it does nothing at all, sucks...

Early in the game the more expensive horses came with increased stats. Then they changed it to tie riding skill to the player and all horses became just a skin. If you like the way your 40K gold horse looks, then, enjoy it. But yeah, you paid 40K gold for a horse skin.

I would go ahead and submit a request to Zeni to refund 30k. Wouldn't hurt to try. They should have changed the cost to be equal for all legacy mounts.

Let me ask this, because I too have my same Imperial Horse from back in the day. Are the stats shared? As in, if I buy a store mount or something today is it maxed like my current horse?

Once I unlock all my bank slots (three more to go) I'll go ahead and get the three expensive horses. There aren't many other gold sinks in the game.
