So I was in Ebonheart playing thru Cadwell's Silver and I went to talk to the NPC across from the Nord camp. There's a loaf of bread right next to her... (Yeah, you know where this is going) I go to click on her to start conversation but my mouse moved slightly and suddenly I'm a wanted criminal fleeing from the law. How effing hard would it be to change theft to work on items out in the open only while you're crouching/sneaking or add a setting "Only steal while crouched/sneaking Off/On"?
Either of those simple changes could also address another stupid UI fail. A few days ago I was in a bandit camp looting sacks and barrels after killing all the bandits. So I stood up and began the drill, point, click, press 'Take All' (I've mapped it to 'R') and repeat. When you're a provisioner you need to plunder a lot of sacks and barrels to find not just materials but recipes. But suddenly one stupid sack was marked as owned. Really? Out of dozens of items I have to deal with the fact that I might get caught stealing from bandits?! What a load of guar droppings.
