I remember when 6, 10 bots stand still in front of spawning a boss in public dugeons, and was impossible to kill a boss or mob that spawns around. Today seems great for years qeu not see a damn bot. I believe ZOS did well their role

...Now it's a year later, the XP is STILL nerfed, and here are complainers like @AlienDiplomat posting threads like this...

Blah blah blah, don't take my bots away, blah blah blah personal attacks, blah blah blah.

You've lost all credibility. Instead of addressing the very real points I made about ZoS over-reaction and nerfing of dungeon XP because of a "botting problem" that mostly existed only in the minds of forum whiners, you accuse ME of botting.

"Blah blah blah", indeed. You have no rational argument to make. It is obvious from your original post that you are only worried about your own lack of CP because you aren't willing to work as hard as other players to attain them.

I honestly haven't seen bots in a long time, but I'll keep a lookout going forward. Good lord though, who remembers them floating above you in mile long trains and lining up turning in quests 100 at a time. It was almost comical back in the day. Sad, but comical.

Really? Where are all these bots? People in this thread sound like superstitious kids talking about ghosts or something. The XP nerfs that happened in public dungeons, however, are very REAL and continue to ruin the experience of grinding those dungeons (and many Craglorn mobs) to this very day.

Like I said before, I play 5-6 hours a day, and I don't see any bots. That doesn't mean they aren't there, of course, but it does mean that whatever they're doing isn't noteworthy or annoying enough to attract my attention. I do know this for sure: no dumb bot is going to be able to grind CP faster than I can, so what do I care?

I see you're equally insulting in practically every thread you post in. He doesn't have to address your points because they have nothing to do with his issue. No one really cares how much time you spent grinding CP (unless you've actually been using bots to do so), they care about people exploiting the game to the detriment of balance.

XP is nerfed, but not nerfed enough considering grinding XP is much more efficient than doing the actual gameplay crafted by ZOS by doing quests and PvP

Bots are good for the economy. I almost fell out of my chair laughing at that one, bud.

Bots grind gold, which creates a gold glut, which means people are willing to spend more on items because of having so much gold, which is why PVP gear items have gone from 40k 6 months ago to over 140k for a single piece.

No, bots are NOT good for the economy.

You hear that folks? There ARE no bots, because Mr. Defend the Bots has spoken and he personally sees no bots.

I sure wish ZOS would have asked him if he saw any bots before they invested tens of thousands of dollars fighting bots.

Maybe we would have more content by now.

Reported two not so long back. Gotta say though, first time I had seen any since the influx we had last April, May.
Players run certain routes when grinding. Do it myself, seen others doing it too, in the same zone/area & other zones.

Minding your own business has many benefits, I suggest the OP try it for a while and quit worrying about what OTHER PEOPLE are doing. Play your game, and let them play theirs.

    Yes, very noble.

Allow these cheaters to go about their business ruining the economy and PVP, but feel good about taking that high ground.

Personally, I WILL go about my business. After I report them and get their cheating account banned.

Oh nos better call 911 IRL too maybe the FBI can do something.

I personally reported two just in the course of 15 minutes playing in Cold Harbour.

They are being set up to run circuits in off-hours grinding CP. I am sure all the prime grinding real estate will be occupied by similar shenanigans once I hit vet levels. I am extremely saddened ZOS has not yet taken action with regard to the public outcry calling for CP caps and catch-up mechanics, as it provides a strong incentive for people to pay Hackers/Gold Farmers to make (and sell) these bots to grind their accounts for them.

I imagine it is quite a tastey business. I can't earn enough to buy a stupid horse writing free addons but people probably make thousands writing bots to cheat at the game! Such is human nature I guess.

Both of the bots had all lower case names. They were programmed to do little random "human" things like jump or light attack a couple times between routines, but they always do it at the exact same point and the routine is always the same.

Also, if the mob dies they will sit there attacking nothing until the script finishes.

I thought we were done with this but the chance to cheat at PVP with an unfair advantage for nothing has given them a reason to risk it. Some people find purpose in their life through cheating.

Read today's patch notes. Nothing about closing the gap.

If they are farming CP as you say, then they must be actual player accounts, right? You can't trade CP.

No problem there, we all have at some point ...

If you take the time to watch them for a minute or two you can easily tell if it's a player grinding or a bot. The bots will do the exact same thing at the same locations over and over. Like stopping to open the map or inventory, jump, switch weapons, etc. They also tend to keep attacking mobs after they're already dead because they don't have any real feedback, just a hardcoded timer.

Like i said, easy to spot ...

I'm assuming from your comment that you meant to reply to me instead of the other guy, but regardless of that, I disagree with your statement. ZoS doesn't need to nerf grinding XP, they need to BUFF quest and PvP XP instead.

To address your second point, If I had enough money to hire a Chinese peasant, I would probably be out clubbing or vacationing or something instead on staying in all summer playing video games and arguing on forums.

If I sound defensive, it's because all this hysterical hand-wringing over the bots, CP, PvP balance and a bunch of other ridiculous issues has a historical track record of causing ZoS devs to react in such a way that screws up this game even WORSE.

Players with actual player accounts use botting software so that they can grind without having to be at the computer. They hope to not get caught, which is why reporting them is important.

PvP gear prices went up a few months ago because they have the best set bonuses for Update 6. Crit was king in Update 5 because it was just about the only stat with no softcap. Now weapon/spell damage and max magicka/stamina have no softcaps. Thus, Morag Tong, Cyrodiil's Light, Shadow Walker, Ravager, etc., have become high demand. Higher demand, higher prices. There are legitimate gameplay reasons for the increase in price.

The two I reported were standing on the same spot, on top of a mob spawn, continually spamming their skills even when the mobs were dead.
Yes I have witnessed bots running in a circle, this was after release when large groups of them were running around an area of Stonefalls, where all the dreugh are. Names alone were a giveaway lol.

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

You seem to be like missing the point.

I saw one while questing in an AD zone on my Templar, you know the quest where the bears and wolves are possessed by Daedra and that wizard has turned everyone into stone? There was a VR14 killing single bears and wolves using the same skills, following the same route and was not responding to messages and any interaction. S/he also kept hitting after the monster died sort of thing as well. I found it odd give the exp there was pretty soso, but I guess if you're running 24 hours each day it's not half bad!

Ultimately I just report and move on, at best they get banned and all of their progress is lost.. but that's quite rare it seems.

i just rolling on the floor, really
i told you the gear and legendary mats not rise in price - they STAY low BECAUSE of BOTS, whatever

please and axemple ofthat mysterious items you told from 40k to 140k

i can guess - it happends when ZOS made VR14 boxes in 1.6
    THATS WHY PRICE BECOME high
    not because of bots
before this patch pvp sets was 12vr max and for a long time, so their price was low
after the patch vr14 shadow walker rings and other pvp sets ofc become 150k+

    but they falling down
hawk eye armor vr14 already at 15-30k piece etc
only rings still high but not so much - o n the release of vr14 sets from boxes they was up to 200k
    now its like 80-90
