Stamina and Magicka draining skill

Is there an attack that someone can hit you with that drains all you stamina and magicka? Because this happened to me 8 times today in pvp, I had full bars and then boom they were gone and I was taking damage. If there is a skill that does that it obviously needs fixed because I should not lose all my recourses when someone hits me.

Your stam and magicka only drop like this when you die but the game is lagging so hard your death doesn't stop you until x_X

Sometimes I wouldn't die though is the thing, 3 of the times I just was able to make it to my group before I lost all my life and got healed, then had to wait for my resources to recharge. Also I'm pure Magicaka and almost never use stamina, unless I block or roll and I was doing neither any of the times it happened, so there was no way for it to drain to nothing. Guess it's just another broke pvp mechanic.

It's possible to lose all your stamina in what might seem an instant, if you're a magicka build blocking inside some AoE's. You'll be dry in an eyeblink. Your health might soon follow As a magicka build, you'll have to learn what things you really, really must block, and then resist doing so any other time.

Alternately, this could be lag. Sometimes, nobody is doing any damage to anyone for quite a long time -- up to 20 or 30 seconds. Then, the damage will suddenly catch up and half your raid drops at once. The servers are hilarious that way.

No this happen to me 3 times last night infact my group of 10 all at the same time we got hit by an invs bilsta no red marker then boom all health stam magic gone i only lived out of my group of ten because my dark cloak removed the fire dots happen 3,4 times last night

It's a combination of skills (you're being hit with) plus some client/server desync happening.

It's similar to what happens when you'll see your healthbar actually drop to zero, then jump back up as a heal comes in, yet you don't die.

Makes it all but impossible to manage resources.

I have had this happen to me to my stamina pool on my stamina nightblade. Going from full (21k) to zero in the blink of an eye. Independent of lag, can be in a XvX with X between 1 and 3 as well as a bazillion-vs-bazillion-fight.

Not convinced to attribute it to only resource bar desynching. It usually happens in conjunction with break free/bash. I have a feeling that it is related to the unbreakable CC issue that was said to be fixed but is not.

This is an old thread I found through Google but this has been happening to me lately too. 30,000 magic just gone in a blink in one attack. Without me casting anything. I still have >80% health but all resources are gone. Then I'm killed with conventional attack skills (steel tornado) because I can't do anything. It was weird and I thought there was a magic draining skill I had missed. Googling that is how I found this thread.

Lag most likely. But I have noticed something really wrong with my regen or stamina just not syncing correctly. Though the second thing could be down to lag.

This explains the invisible ballista bolt that kills me sometimes. I will be holding my own on my new fabulous magplar and suddenly BOOM! Out of nowhere, no animations , nothing, I drop dead and lose 3/4 my health, and apparently a ballista bolt hit me for 15 k damage , but there was no bolt for me to dodge ....

Today 2 times, my full Magicka drained in a second while pvp NB. It must be a bug or exploit.

I know this is old, but this happens to me aswell, mostly when i fight a certain red group in eu pc trueflame. please ZoS look into this.

There is a poison that increase cost of stam and mag by 60%.

I actually think the poisons are glitched sometimes... And immediatly drain stam/mag from the target instead of making the targets stam/mag cost 60% more.

I have no way to prove this but i have often been full on resources and hit by a player and before i can even use 2 or 3 skills i am out of mag/stam. With having having a stam/mag increase poison applied to me on first hit (only last about 6 sec) i should still have enough resources to last more than 3 skills but that is not the case... I am completely drained.
With that said this is not new and i have noticed this for a very long time but if in fact it is a bug then i don't think ZOS will ever fix it.

Well if you use a skill that costs 3500 stamina, that would actually use 5600. If you have 38k stamina which is pretty typical, then that's 14.74% of your total stamina pool in one skill. That's a TON.

Happened to me last night. Was running into a keep and was hit by an arrow, stunned and both magica and stamina were drained 100%. So I had to wait for the stun to break and wasn't able to do anything. I'm trying to figure out what he used but I can't find anything that drains on impact. Not that much anyway.

BS, i had countless of battles no lag but some ppl take all my MP and Stam with 3 hits and then i can't fight and i am alive HP just 10% - 20% down and they keep hitting me until i die (sometimes some ppl do it with just normal attacks/light attacks to make it last longer as to mokc me like: hehe u can't do SH and i can take my time to kill u slow), it has to be some hack cause poisons are not this effective, after my stam and MP is gone they stun me to and i can't even brake free neither

not all players but i do see this SH a lot

didn't you look at thread date before posting? will get locked for not being relevant anymore.

however the things that cause resources drop are the same:
- holding block multiple attacks
- resource drain (cost increase) poisons, which are fairly popular
- you could halt your recovery ticks too many times, i have a video on youtube about this

Thread is old but I saw this a couple weeks ago. I was fighting and my resources didn't do a chunk down like when activating an ability, but steadily and quickly all the way to zero. People were like "probably resource poisons" but AFAIK, resources poison just increases cost.
