Crafting mid-adv (need advice!)

What's up ESO community, just a quick question regarding crafting.
I plan on crafting all my end-game gear and have some questions on passives. I've read a lot of controversy on the hireling aspect.

My questions regard Woodworking and Clothier. I haven't explored enchantment too much, but I do plan on delving further.
Any advice towards these skills would be appreciated! Any helpful links would be too. I am NA XBone lvl42 sorc newb

Depending on what crafting skill levels you are starting at, the sooner you have a plan the easier skill progression and research will be.

If you know what crafted sets you will be using and what traits you want on them, plan your skill leveling and research around them.

Get the traits you want on that gear first, when it takes the shortest amount of time. Get the first trait on all items before getting the 2nd trait on any. (If you only research the same item to get the number of traits for that set, that's the only item you'll be allowed to make at that table, bring up all gear at the same time).

If you want Nirn traits on them get/buy the pieces early and get them researched in the shortest amount of time (if you save for last they will take as long as 30 days per gear piece).

Save the traits you'll likely never use for after Nirn at least.

Hirelings can start sending you materials and trait stones and tempers at a very early stage. It only takes Level 3 craft skill for a Hireling I and Level 12 for Hireling II. That is materials you won't have to harvest, buy or steal.

Hirelings rarely give Gold tempers any more but Purple and lower are common.

So hirelings are worth the skill point? Cause I'm just not sure what points need to go in on a crafting line. And I don't know if skill points aren't to critical for end-game...

Yes and no. Hirelings are a reliable source of Green to Purple Tempers. Getting the Hireling to L2 really helps with that. Not sure if L3 is worth it or not as you have to log in twice a day to get the mails.

As for what points to put into crafting. It all depends really. If your just leveling it, then no points are needed, just deconstruct everything. But, the Extraction passives help with decon and refining raw materials to get more and better materials and tempers back. If your researching traits, you want the Research Passives.

If your making gear, then you need the Material level for the gear you want to make, and you need or want the Temper expertise if your improving things (improvement does not offer much benefit until later in the leveling zones or VR Ranks).

You can always respec later and take some points out of crafting and put into combat. But, until your in the mid VR Ranks, your not going to have enough skill points to be as deadly as you want and proficient in multiple crafts. Figure on 1 to 3 crafts as you level.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

EDIT: I started crafting and have been crafting since I started, I enjoy skilling but I enjoy PvP a bit more 25 tailoring and 23ish WW. Enchant only 14 but bank is full

Hirelings were nerfed, but if you don't have stacks of materials and supplies collected already, they could be very worthwhile. Even though I do, I keep my hirelings just for the odd great improvement material (although those are now few and far between). If you do get them, be sure to put 2 points in so you get better stuff.. but only put the point into the 3rd if you are actually able to log into the game every 12 hours to get your mail...

Deconstruct anything you get..at vr6 i have 4 level 50 crafts and the two others over 45..only one did i "make and decon with a friend" was blacksmithing...Wood and clothing i got to 50 just by deconing every drop i got..

Also as soon as you can put points into the extraction in any type item you use..so say your a med bow user..make sure woods and clothing have extraction max'd and might as well do blacksmith to i have it in all cause the tempers sell high blue blacksmithing 2k-3k each and you need 3 when maxed per peice of armor and weapons so good way to make cash

Yeah I've always decon anything that doesn't sell high to merch. The extract does make sense I wondered how much difference it makes
